Featured India wants Bangladesh by its side in the geopolitical scenario

A successful foreign policy is one where we remain neutral or non-aligned and balance competing interests.

If China invests $30 billion in Bangladesh then India or US can either match Chinese investment or they can watch China eat their cake. No free rides.

The geopolitics may not always fulfill your wish. To India BD is very important because the latter provides vital links between Kolkata and the NE.

On the other hand, China certainly does not need BD in the way that India needs. It needs MM for coming to the BoB. However, in the case of a war between China and India, China will not appreciate BD providing transport communications to the IA troops. So, China has some stake in BD.

America has little stake here, but it provides BD about an yearly $200 million in cash to support BD's social sectors.

In any case, BD is not an all important country to the world that every one needs its friendship.
