most Indians are semi-literate, the idea of democracy, pluralism etc is not something they think is useful for India... the only reason we are still following democracy is because we are a federation of states(which are legitimate countries themselves), and its difficult to bring them together to agree on a strong central authority...
this is entirely believable and not at all a new development.... may be it has been made worse by the mythical hindu warrior king Modi... but the yearning for 'strong' leadership who is ready to commit violence if it matches my own idea/belief, has always been there among masses.
You guys are old, you don't understand feelings of us youth. Modi speaks to our suppressed emotions and base instincts. He brings out those feelings in us which were repressed for generations over 1000 years. This is true human nature. ANd makes us feel good. He makes us youth want to follow him.Could you be a little more liberal with the '-ve' rating.
Gandhi was a Unnatural leader. Non violence is a un-natural concept. No youth will accept a weak leader like Gandhi. We youth need some one who can give it back to the adversary. No youth will like a leader who believes in showing the other cheek. Most of Indian population is youth.
If Subash Chandra Bose had succeeded, then Gandhi would have been in the dustbin of History.
Here is Modi who never lets us down. Modi let's us vent our hatred and frustration.
