The activities of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) continues to pose threat to, and are detrimental to, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India as also public order, according to a notification issued recently by the Union Home Ministry, extending the ban on the outfit.

The notification which was republished by the Tamilnadu government on 20 May said it is necessary to declare the LTTE an unlawful association because of its continued violent and disruptive activities prejudicial to the integrity and sovereignty of India and its strong anti-India posture besides posing a grave threat to the security of Indian nationals.

The manifesto of LTTE was always an independent Tamil Eezham in Lanka free from the clutches of the Sinhalese...The TN portion was never in question..

It was a personal vendetta mission of the Ghandis to extract revenge for their fallen..

As I said that 'intelligence' report has more 'politics' than 'intelligence'..basically it was a document of support for Indian role in supporting the maniacal regime in Colombo back then.....and the primary audience for that 'intelligence' report were the people of TN..

I agree with you that Pakistan army was slow to realize some of their 'assets' were getting out of control. When you can't control your own weapon -- and, especially, if it is used against you -- then it's time to destroy that weapon.

While it is true that the nature of the game requires dealing with double agents and other unsavory characters, the fact remains that you must always retain the ability to quash your 'assets' if they stray too much out of line.

I agree with you that Pakistan army was slow to realize some of their 'assets' were getting out of control. When you can't control your own weapon -- and, especially, if it is used against you -- then it's time to destroy that weapon.
