Ground Zero: India arrive in Pakistan

The Indian cricket team arrived in Pakistan on Thursday night amidst stringent security arrangements. However, there was not much of a crowd to welcome them at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.
The flight that brought them to Lahore was delayed due to inclement winter weather, which also threatens to disrupt the series.

India and Pakistan play a 3-Test and 5-ODI match series.

Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who surpassed Sunil Gavaskar&#39;s record of 34 Test centuries in the home series against Sri Lanka in December, smiles at photographers as pace bowler Zaheer Khan looks on.

"We have over 500 policemen from the elite force and paramilitary forces guarding the airport and the route to the hotel," a senior police officer told Reuters as the aircraft touched down after a three and a half-hour delay.

Wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his locks intact, Mumbai opener Wasim Jaffer and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh head to the bus from the baggage carousal.

As part of the security arrangements, barricades had been set up at the terminal building to allow the players and officials to exit the airport quickly and to prevent the crowds from approaching them.

Six armoured cars, each carrying 12 fully armed security personnel, gave the team bus a clean passageway to the hotel.

The Indian squad arrived without four players: former captain Sourav Ganguly, vice-captain Virender Sehwag, senior pro Anil Kumble and reserve keeper Parthiv Patel, all of who have stayed behind to complete appearances in the Ranji Trophy. They will join the squad on Saturday.

It seems like that Pakistan is in good position but hey dont expect things like British did with England cricket team. So lets hope for the best, and a good game between both teams.

Here its same I also want to watch all the matches but I cant do that caz of the Business.

As far as the performance and condition of the teams, I have seen in the news that the Indian Crickets seems to be good against the Pakistani fast bowlers in the warmup matches

Neo dude&#33;&#33;&#33; You were so right man. Even if its karachi it doesn&#39;t matter. I dont know what happened to our cricket team, it really needs improvement.

Besides that i understand the capability of Indian team as of now, they are getting more funds and more support as it is the main team, on the other hand it is the Pakistani Cricket players who paying to make our nation better, like creating a new hospital which is made by Inzimams effort. I saw that on Geo.

Why is it that no indian ever mentions the 3rd test? I am not just talking about one or two indians, but all of them. A test win is worth a lot more since test matches are a LOT more important than ODIs. A 341 run defeat (just on run short of equalling india's highest defeat in terms of runs and 2 runs short of breaking it) after getting Pakistan to 39-6 is really pathetic. And as for ODIs, there are a lot of factors such as the conditions, toss and the pitch that effected the game and helped india win.

Pakistan didn't count Dhoni and Yuvraj and they fucked them up like nothing. Even when Raina got his chance he proved himself.

Yousuf is not a specialist pinch hiter like Afridi or Razzaq or Malik. He builds the game so his place is between number 3-5.

Most of all a total clueless Captaincy by Inzamam. He was sending Mohammed Yousuf on number 6 and 7 for what?

The only bowler worked for Pakistan was Mohd.Asif. Sami and Rana sucked on their own soil.

As far as conditions and pitch was related only PCB and your own curators to blame for.

Later on April 18th and 19th India and Pakistan played 2 ODI's in Abu Dhabi for the charity of the earthquake victims of both India and Pakistan.

75% of the earnings were donated to the Pak quake victims and 25% to the Indians.

BCCI itself donated 75 Million Indian Rupees to Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi as quake aid.

In return Rana naved asked Dhoni to **** off in the second ODI after he got his wicket.

Now only God himself will protect Rana from Dhoni.

I am crossing my fingers for the Indo-Pak clash in coming ICC Champions trophy.

A test win is worth a lot more since test matches are a LOT more important than ODIs.

One by one.

For appreciation, no Indian appreciates any Pakistani player, except perhaps Mohammad Asif right now no Pakistani appreciates any Indian player except perhaps Dravid. So you can't blame us for not appreciating when no Indian appreciates Pakistani players. Its mainly due to the rivalry. Another reason that why no one appreciates Pathan is that he bowls at 75Mph and he acts like he bowls at 90Mph. Even Afridi can bowl faster than him with just 2 steps.

Last 9 tests.. if you're going into history, lets go into the history all the way. Of all the test matches played between India and Pakistan, Pakistan has won 12 and india has won 8. ODI is even worse for India, with the tally standing at 64-40.

I do agree that bad fielding played its part, but lets just stop for a second. The only game Pakistan won in the series was chasing and India also won all its games by chasing. Pakistan didn't field any good in that ODI that they won. It would've been highly interesting to see what would've happened if Pakistan would have batted second in any of the game that it lost. One of the main reason that India won was due to the fact that the pitch assisted bowlers in the first 20 - 30 overs and then there was no help later on. India got lucky with the toss and hence they won the game. Like I said, would've been interesting to see if Pakistan batted second because the game that they was WAS BATTING SECOND.

Dhoni.. well he only gets run on flat wickets and the time he came to bat out, the pitches were flat. You'll see how bad he gets exposed on England, Australia and other abroad wickets and you got the preview of that in Karachi test match. Yuvraj did bat well, yes and he's the only batsman i'll appreciate cause he was the only one who got runs for India in Karachi test match, not Dhoni. Every single Pakistan batsman got runs in Karachi test match, where the pitch was seaming for the most part.

Yousuf didn't actually go at number 6 or 7, mister, he went at number 4 mostly and sometimes number 5. Go check the scorecard, cause I watched most of the games live and he came at 4 or 5.

Bowling.. Pakistan was missing Shoaib Akhtar for the most part and India wasn't missing any bowler. And Pakistani bowlers were bowling on flat pitches while Pathan, Sreesanth bowled in seaming conditions.

For pitch and conditions, no PCB was not to be blamed for because the pitch was behaving like that due to the WEATHER (overcast conditions) and its something that they can't control. As I said, india got very lucky with all the tosses and it would've been interesting to see what would've happened had Pakistan batted second.
