Train is used by everyone. Thats why there are different classes in train, air conditioned and non air conditioned, so every one can afford it.

We dont have any better Compartments than these.... Well We have Sleeper Class, 2nd class and 3rd Class AC where mostly Middle class travel, 1st class AC where Upper Middle class travel.... General Compartments where we have Options for "Without" that is for poor travel with much less or sometimes for free too... Now dont say that these compartments are not interlinked...

As far as costly trains and Luxury ones we have "The Maharaja Express" and "Palace On wheel" which can be afforded only by Rich and foreign tourists... And Not to forget, Indian Railway network is the largest and It is also the world largest Employer...
