Companies are not fools to invest billions in R&D unless they are certain that India has the manpower and R&D ecosystem to get their returns back. And R&D are not some short term investments, they are long term commitments and tied to the survivability of the company itself.

taking funds abroad in the name of R/D for tax free entry is also a fact...There are far cheaper and more talent destinations than India on this planet..in the game of money..there are far more dark reasons than the obvious legitimate ones..Three top medical companies who have been praised several times for bringing massive R/D investments into Saudi are now being busted for money laundering charges..the government got alerted that after years of funds flowing they have not produced much..

BHOPAL: Over nine lakh aspirants, including those with PhD, post graduate and engineering degrees, have applied for the post of about 14,000 police constables in Madhya Pradesh.

Of the 9.24 lakh candidates, 1.19 lakh are graduates, 14,562 are post graduates, 9,629 engineers and 12 with Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD), according to the data of Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), which will conduct the examination.

The minimum qualification for the post is Higher Secondary.

"There are candidates with PhD and engineering degrees who have applied for the post," said Bhaskar Lakshakar, Director, MPPEB.

He said the examination is scheduled to be held on July 17.

"Our job is to conduct the examination. The analysis of the profile of applicants is beyond our mandate," Bhaskar said when asked to elaborate on the profile of these degree holders.


Over five lakh youth, who have passed Higher Secondary or Class XII, are also among the applicants. There are 3,438 diploma holders too.

There are about 2.58 lakh aspirants, belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, who have passed classes VIII and above as eligibility criteria for them is low.

The post offers a salary in the pay band of Rs 5,200 to Rs 20,200 with an additional grade pay of Rs 1,900 per month.

What an immature butt hurt fellow.. In India people always prefer govt jobs over anything even though it is of low grade compared to qualification.. You can see high grade engineers are leaving their high paid job for a simple clerk job in govt.. It's very common here..

As far as USA, Russia,UK,Europe & China are concerned, yes we are lagging in modern research. But that dose not mean that we are centuries behind them. We are catching on. We lose a major chunk of research scholars to these big research destination. And why wouldn't we, centuries of British raj and then followed by years of poor economics had battered the research environment in India. We just have to build up our research bases and the brain drain will stop gradually. That is when we will start stepping with the big league.

Not all PhD degree holders are great and not all who hold BE degrees are great engineers its not easy to get a good job in a private company the competition is cut throat.

You can have PhD in something but that dosent matter is you are no skilled in what the company wants.
