Tu 22M3 use anti ship missiles with range between 600-1500 kms....more than any anti air missiles on any ship...and it carries 12 such missiles.

• Up to 3 × Kh-22 missiles in weapons bay and on wing pylons or

Hats off, Suppose India is going to bomb a navy vessel of PLAN and before the aircraft takes off Chinese know that the aircraft will fly and bomb its specific vessel, Hence they will bomb the Base, runway or the aircraft with the missile . Absolutely flawless execution of the Idea. Only China can do the implementation.

How much those birds are upgraded? 4 birds are not sufficient number against PLAN because they will send CBG to patrol Indian Ocean in future and they already have capabilities to take out air threats up to 200kms from ships.

India will have 3 CBGs operating in Indian ocean region plus few long range bombers and fighters based on A&N Islands and Lakshadweep islands. Enough to counter and dominate adversaries in our waters.
