India to send its first shipment of wheat to Afghanistan through Iran's Chabahar Port

Lol who told you it is cheaper than a straight land route?

Well sea transport is definitely cheaper. But end price depends on how much Iran is charging for transit

Russia and America are bigger enemies yet, US sells many items to Russia and many Russian brands are running in US.

They do business although in a subtle way, and have a lot of cultural exchanges. Including people to people comm. There are Russians working in US and vise versa.

While Pakistans policy revolve around the theory of "friend or enemy". That will weigh you down and is weighing you down.
Tiny nations always thinks like that...

The great game has begun and the Chinese CPEC is nowhere to be seen...

. . . .
More important point is, will Iran allow India to provide logistics to US army through Chabahar, in case talks between USA and Pakistan fail(Though I think that's unlikely despite the filibuster)?

India is not there to provide logistics to US army, for that they have Pakistan.

.
US policies had foolishly offending Pakistan. I would rather US develop better relationships with Pakistan as India cannot be trusted. On certain things, India is pro China.

India has her own interests .
We are not under some others expense .
We are a decision maker not decision takers

Chabahar Port in Iran

India’s first shipment of wheat to Afghanistan will reach the war-torn country through the Chabahar Port in Iran, Kabul-based TOLO News has reported, quoting officials from the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI).

According to ACCI officials, India will send at least 130,000 tons of wheat to Afghanistan in this shipment. “This process is crucial for strengthening trade and transit relations of Afghanistan with India and Iran. We will continue our efforts to provide better grounds for increasing trade activities,” the ACCI deputy head for trade, Kamila Sediqi, was quoted by TOLO News as saying.

This comes just days after Afghan President Ashraf Ghani concluded his visit to India this week. Ghani had appreciated India’s move to send wheat to Afghanistan.

Afghanistan, a land-locked country, is completely dependent on Pakistan for access to the sea. Pakistan refuses to give India land access to Afghanistan while it permits Afghan trucks access to Wagah border with India.

Chabahar port, which is being developed by India, gives Kabul and New Delhi an alternative route to expand trade between the two countries. It bypasses Pakistan, limiting Kabul’s dependence on Islamabad for access to the sea. The port will also give India access to resource-rich countries in central Asia.
