India to make Apache Helicopter Parts

They started their aerospace wing in 07, got their first break in 09. With no prior experience, have you seen what TATA has done since 09?

Boeing and Tata Announce Aerospace Joint Venture in India | AVIATIONNEWS.EU.AVIATIONNEWS.EU.

Congrats to them

I have posted this else where, but I am surprised at the work TATA has been putting in this sector, in a matter of couple of years at that.

Its a pain and a shame for u guys , not for us my friend ,
Btw u can see ur super doper helicopter when ever you visit pakistan , its in gilgit , i am sure u will not feel good when u see it but facts my brother cant be changed , so it will stay there and every pakistani will feel proud when ever they see it , and u simply can do nothing
And you can come to India and take a look at a battalion of Patton Tanks displayed in parks and rotting... this is wat happens in war... some get captured, some get annihilated. ... your point being.

Here's an Hindutva bowl we keep as a souvenir.

No one will buy idmf they knew these parts are made in in india most buyers are from ME they dont trust india so apache sell will be down to 60 percent
Well if this isn't the most stupid comment I've seen in a while. This is a globalised world we live in where components are made all over the world. The fact is there is nothing particuarly ground-breaking about this news, TATA has already been making entire cabins for the S-92 (including those for VM-X ie the POTUS will be flying in Made in India cabins- if it's good enough for him...), structures for the F-18 Super Hornet, 737,787 and P-8 etc etc

Boeing is on record of saying the quality of the work being done in India is world-class and of sufficent quality, do you really think that a global giant like Boeing would accept sub-par components for their aircraft? Are you stupid?

When u get result we talk whatever u built from arjun to tejas never worked and we dont bark indigenous like u on thunder most of parts u buy from france and install them and call them indigenius and still they wont work what a shame
Plz note no other but US President himself travels in Indian made fuselage of Sirkosy S92.

what if i told you owr auto industry also got a much needed push when we started making spare parts for leading global auto giants in early 1990s after libralization started in india i hope owr defnce industries also do the same ... wish us luck bro

This is a welcome news for India and as @GURU DUTT says there are definite parallels with India's automotive sector back when it was still developing.

TRUE that!

In addition, if there was one thing that China NEVER got to do was Defense/Hi-Tech Manufacturing for Western Defense corporations due to their (well-placed) fears of IP infringements by the Chinese.

Despite being a latecomer to the manufacturing bandwagon, India can really carve a niche for itself in Defense manufacturing if the government play their cards right. IP Protection legislation/Land/Labour reforms etc.

Hi-Tech manufacturing bodes really well for us with India already being at the forefront of IT sector.
