India to go ahead with $2.3 billion Turkish shipyard deal

Most idiotic argument I've ever seen. If money talked then India could throw money at Turkey with such deals and have Turkey sing their tunes...and yet Turkey didn't give a crap about Indian feelings. This ain't some morally bankrupt nation like urs...it's beyond ur grasp. They stood on their principles knowing full well that India could try things like it did with Malaysia(the palm oil blackmail) and yet they didn't back track...didn't issue any apologies. That's called having a spine...woh apna thook ke nahi chaat-tay...only u guys do that ;)
They stopped palm oil trade with Malaysia because they had a big deficit with them. With Turkey they have a 10 bil surplus.

Stood on principles yea ok, what have they done for Kashmir except making blank statements. Let me know once they take some real action, till that time, it is just cheap talk and we are ok with that. If Turkish companies want to be the lowest bidders on our contracts while their PM says stuff to keep people like you happy, then that's totally fine.

You folks need to start differentiating between companies and countries. We signed a contract with a Turkish company because they were the lowest bidder on a contract. There were several companies that bid on the contract, if a Turkish company wants to build these ships in our shipyards at a lower cost than even Indian companies, then why not . You guys might let a grudge or funny rivalry let you make bad financial decisions, we don't. We won't lose money by picking a higher bidder just because their PM likes to make blank statements on Kashmir to keep you guys happy. We know the game, we do that with Palestine all the time, while everyone knows Israel is our closest ally after Russia.

Didn't you stop the palm oil purchases from Malaysia? Why did you do that then?

If it's so fine with u when a country raises the Kashmir issue then why does India gets its panties in a bunch anytime a country speaks up for Kashmir? Unlike the Arab sell outs...Turkey didn't bow down to money and stood on principles...India could only cry about it and then bowed down.

As Haris Ali pointed out above. We have a trade deficit with Malaysia. If we stop buying palm oil and they retaliate, it mainly hurts them. With Turkey we have a trade surplus. If we put an end to our imports from them and they retaliate, it mainly hurts us.

We just convey our displeasure, as any country would. Nothing more happens. Malaysia was an odd one out, it was the first time we have taken any such action, but it was mainly because of their trade surplus with India. Besides, they have also been protecting Zakir Naik who we have been trying to extradite. If was a combination of all these factors that led to palm oil ban.

To make sure you cant rely on Turkey and always have doubts ......
Just FYI market is always for buyer not seller and god knows what will be hidden clauses in the deal
Where is your backbone is now? Why sign the deal besides all the bravado?

You guys abandoned your strategic ally Iran.

Don't you think you are licking your own spit here after all the calls for boycott of Turkey?

Or under shree modi Thook is the new national drink? :)

Well....Even it sounds very bad to us...But you are spot on....If we have to any way, continue with the contract, then why there is so much fuss from our Govt in the 1st place? Why can not we simply say that Politics and Economy do not intermingle with each other...

If we value few billion dollars for Turkey's project, then why can not we start India Pakistan cricket in our home or Pakistan which will provide us with multi million dollar financial benifit in terms of money.....

So this step is definitely illogical and shows, how our current Govt is clueless in handling few foreign policy issues...

It might be one of the reason....Even same thing, i also believe is the reason to continue with the deal...We should not stop trade with those countries where we have trade surplus...
