India To Expand Gas Pipeline To Myanmar Through Bangladesh

I can keep posting articles which you will disagree to defend your fascist state.

I was very specifically limited to the statement you made. Digressions don't help or enhance your case.

Who made you mod?

As I can see, your limitations remain in being able to amplify on your quoted post at first instance. Hence, you have changed the context. Or merely exhibited an inability to understand the intent? Let me assist you in your understanding then.

The scope of a discourse is being limited to prevent the propensity of some people, on a shaky foundation, from dragging everything under the sun into a subject & topic specific point of discourse, in order to deflect the original point and to obfuscate the picture in order to tide over their original half baked post.

So, having clarified why we must keep specific to economy and your claims as a topic, can you post facts in terms of parameters of Economic Growth?

You are wasting bandwidth on this forum to defend your genocidal failed regime.

Modi’s Cash Crackdown Failed, Indian Bank Data Shows

Again. These are perceptions. Not facts based on Principles of Economics, either Macro & Micro. Where has regime crept in from, eh? :pop:

It still does not clarify your statement

No wonder you have an inflated, artificial economy and energy shortages.

After this don’t ask me for any more articles. I’m sick of reading your verbose hot-air.

Any use posting this? So, if you can not provide data and indices that support your claim as made in the post quoted originally by me and posted again for your reference, one should assume that you were merely blustering and have no clue of what you were talking?

How about you not wasting the bandwidth and posting something that supports your contentions as originally quoted by me? How does that sound to you? ;)

@Joe Shearer I like this guy :D

Oh it will be. 2005 India had what?....500 billion of market cap power projection?

Now its 5 times that and growing fast.

I need not post the commensurate energy demand that has entailed either....not with the 100% gas connection program Modi admin has successfully implemented now.

"Patronage" to PM lady....if that....given she is quite beholden to and tucked away in dada pocket. You can watch and see yourself.

There is no dumping duty (since India has not brought any dumping case against BD in WTO in first place). Dont mix up terms please....you actually have to learn what they are first.

If you want to address the tears/emotion-based "non-tariff barriers" that some butthurts here already are whinging about....you can simply start to open the litigation process at WTO regarding that (its pretty ridiculously easy thing to do) at ANY time (Ever since you started the rona drona cry). That is on YOU to do (to express any basic intent/claim on it so we even have some reference of what you are exactly talking about).

It will NEVER be part of any energy deal/project with India....just like it did not come up one iota in the electric network integration (and market establishment)...nor in the BBIN logistics deals.

@hellfire @Sam. @Cobra Arbok

Nope. Its covered substantially in Indian diplomatic patronage of BD already (and plenty of room to spare -and as we dictate and decide)

Wont ever be part of this kind of deal. That is bilateral issue for you lot to deal with. @Aung Zaya

There is no "FTA" tbh (bilateral or otherwise) in South Asia....just MFN's granted (which still allow duties and tariffs within a framework)....which are the equivalent of doing high-fives instead of actual legislation +handshake. i.e mostly optics rather than substance.

I would like to see what you mean by China exporting through BD? Need some evidence here....because that is covered by WTO strongly under rules of origin clause (even down to minute % levels needed to classify as such when talking about sourcing and value adding if multi-input). Because that would be a case that would be immediately filed and fast-tracked at WTO.

India imports tiny levels (of mostly BD made commodities with small value add) from BD in the first place.....given BD terrible infrastructure (esp logistics) and business conditions...there is no economic advantage to importing Chinese goods from there anyway.

@GeraltofRivia
Nevertheless this is a great initiative which improves the connectivity of the region. I am guessing the pipeline will flow from Myanmar to India as Myanmar has a major gas reserve and India with booming industry demand will be hungry for gas.

Gas pipeline is a large investment, especially the inter-country ones, and will require tremendous amount of capital. It will be interesting to see whether Myanmar will have that kind of production that can underwrite this investment.

Myanmar has a lot of gas reserves, India has invested into a bunch of blocks (including Shwe gas field which at current rate is a 35 year long extraction of about 9 trillion cubic feet) already:

So a pipeline definitely makes sense at some point (just like China is doing already).

@Aung Zaya @tarpitz can maybe post more info on the gas economy/prospects of Myanmar.

Then this all starts to make sense.

Yes, India has 2 out of 6 companies (ONGC Videsh and GAIL) that jointly own and developed the gas fields with CNPC is the sole buyer of Shwe gas. Looks like some great cooperation happened here :cheers:

This is recently found in block A6. 5 holes drilled , 5 gas discoveries. :P
