India to Conduct its First Hypersonic Flight Experiment (HEX-01) for AVATAR RLV-TD in March!

Please can anyone update us about the status DRDO's HSDTV?

Can this technology being used in the RLV be used in the development of hypersonic cruise missile as well?

Hypersonic cruise is actually the abnormal version of cruise. The sub-sonic terrain hugging version is the one with strategic advantage. If it is hypersonic, no need for it to be a cruise missile, it might as well be a regular ballistic missile. (exception being Brahmos where terrain hugging is not an option while at the same time speed can help surpass ship defences.

There is no hate. Personal, I just did not like the way of over promising and under delivering. That is it.

No one over promised.This is an experimental mission and such ventures often have to take a backseat when other missions pop up

Things will change when third launchpad at ISRO is completed.

Yes, Chinese were impressed with Indians announcements and space ambitions, so there is a section in a space website to list out your announcements and track the progress. There is no bad intention, don't got excited We are no competitors, and you guys did a wonder in accomplishing Mars mission! :tup:

This conversation will be more productive if you can post the link to that website, also the claimed space project of ISRO over a decade of development stage.

You are correct china has definitely demonstrated the capability to design and test 700kN cryogenic engine and 1200kN semi cryogenic engine.For now china seems ahead .But india is also working on a 2000kN semi cryogenic engine that is under advanced stages of development as pointed out by our chairman of ISRO

The specifications of our semi cryogenic engine surpasses that of china's but then again chinese engine has passed all the flight certifications and would be launched next year,indian engine on the other hand will be test fired for the first time on a rig next year- actual flight might take at least 3 years!
Unfortunately india doesnt have an equivalent of china's YF-100(a cryo engine with 600-700kN thrust).India's 600kN cryogenic engine is still on drawing boards and would not be ready for test atleast for next 5-8 years! India's most powerful cryogenic engine can do only 200kN

Ukraine is at war with Russia. Will Ukraine even allow Russia to get their hands on their kerosene engine? Will Russia even help?

On June 2, 2005, India and Ukraine signed theFramework Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of India on Cooperation in the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, which would enter in force on February 15, 2006.[2] This framework was strictly for peaceful applications and specifically specified full compliance with international export control regimes. In particular, with the Missile Technology Control Regime as India should provide the Ukraine all assurances that any technology transfer would only be used for peaceful purposes. Article 3 of the Framework agreement specifies, among other topics, cooperation on the sphere of production of space transport systems and conducting special scientific researches for assembling, producing, launching, operating and using the launch vehicles, satellites and other space systems.[3]

On November 2006, within said Framework, a contract was signed for Ukraine to develop aliquid staged combustion rocket engine usingkerosene and liquid oxygen as propellant forISRO. The terms of the contract were the transfer of blue prints, since the designer,Yuzhnoye Design Office lacked the manufacturing capabilities to actually build such an engine. But no engineering analysis methods nor software would be part of the transfer. And it also stated further restrictions on the contract:only ISRO would be the importer and end user; the engine could only be used for peaceful purposes; it could not be copied, modified, upgraded, re-exporter nor transferred to a third party without the permission of Yuzhnoye and the export control authorities of Ukraine; and the use for military applications was strictly forbidden.

Read the last statement. India need Ukraine approval if you make any modifications.
