India to buy Tomahawk Cruise Missiles?

le lo yaar .:enjoy:
Nirbhay ka kiya howa?

This is mature platform, If India get this, then this will add teeth for better striking capability. Even NATO countries want block IV tomahawk version. But only two countries posses this system. This should be diplomatic & military breakthrough for India if He is able to finalise the deal. Tomahawk holds its own kind of importance,a system which you can rely for striking targets with confidence.
US only showing carrots o India like F-16 with full TOT and transferring of production line etc etc.....and It seems India really wants to follow truck di batti...

. . . . .
India follows meekly into the Clutches of the its Imperial master / uncle.

Nasaam means an Amraam based SAM, so what happened to Akash, Spyder, Derby, and two dozen other programs?

Nope.

We will be buying NASAMS only for the Delhi Defence Plan. The configuration is suitable for protecting cities since each battery has twice the number of radars as a typical QRSAM like SPYDER. So that eliminates blind spots in cities.

IAF:
SPYDER-MR has been purchased by the IAF in the previous decade for the protection of air bases. 9 squadrons here. Future orders will be for the DRDO QRSAM.

IA:
DRDO QRSAM has been developed for the army, they are interested in 8 regiments. The IA was interested in purchasing 3 regiments of SPYDER-SR as a stop gap before the QRSAM came in, but it looks like that won't be going anywhere. It has a dedicated missile designed for it.

IN:
The navy has 2 programs. 4 systems for 4 ships will be imported. And 10 more systems will be based on Astra.

So the NASAMS purchase is not dedicated to the three wings.
