India to build cricket stadium in Kandhar

.
This is a good step, appreciate it. Presently, if I'm not mistaken, Noida serves as the home ground for Afghanistan. Going forward, it can be Kandahar.

Opening batsmen - Hafiz Saeed and Lakhvi! Twelfth man Syed Salauddin! :cheesy:

Aint gona happen the ground reality is different Kandhar is totally controlled by Afghan taliban afghan army is confined to NATO base along with indian consulate first you need to get a permission from mullah Akhtar Mansoor of kandhari talibans

why do you think the indian establishment, especially bjp government, cannot work with the taliban?? :)

account of a indian government envoy sent to meet a anti-socialist terrorist two decades ago[1]...
Ustad Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, Afghan President Hamid Karzai's first choice as speaker of the new Afghan parliament, is the perfect bridge the latter needs to reach out extensively in the Islamic world and Pakistan, says former diplomat M K Bhadrakumar, possibly the first and last Indian to have met Sayyaf in his native village.

January mornings can be bitingly cold and blindingly awash with sunshine in the Parwan mountains leading to the Bamyan region in Afghanistan. That morning, when I was dropped by the side of a rivulet on a desolate dirt track leading out of Charikar on the edges of Panjshir valley was, of course, very cold and extraordinarily sunny.

Ahmad Shah Massoud's men who escorted me bid farewell, explaining that beyond the forlorn, shallow rivulet strewn with pebbles lay hostile territory under the control of Ittehad-al-Islami. The year was 1993
It was supposed to have been a 30-minute meeting. I had a simple message to deliver on behalf of the government and people of India -- 'India has friendly feelings toward all Mujahideen groups and antipathy toward none, and we deal with whichever government happens to be there in Kabul. We have infinite goodwill toward the people of Afghanistan who are our brothers and we will never ever interfere in their internal affairs.'

i must add that this indian envoy is now retired and has a centrist stand.

but years before this alliance-promise message delivery to the taliban's friends, the indian establishment found common cause with zia ul haq in being anti-socialist regarding both pakistan and afghanistan[2]...
Washington: Contradicting perceived proximity to the Soviet Union in the Cold War era, India under the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had toyed with the idea of supporting anti-Russian civilian groups in Pakistan if the then Zia regime was thrown out by Moscow, a recent declassified CIA document has claimed.
"If (Gen) Zia (Ul Haq) regime were to fall, the Indians might try to prevent Soviet attempt to dominate Pakistan by supporting rival Pakistani political factions, Soviet military moves against an already neutralised Pakistan could even result in military confrontation with India," it added.
"For his part, Zia is also likely to propose ideas on ways to improve the bilateral relationship. He may suggest regular high-level diplomatic talks in addition to the formal Joint Commission sessions that focuses on trade, communications and cultural exchanges," the report said. "Zia may also solicit Gandhi's views on whether as the Pakistanis believe the Soviets are becoming serious about a negotiated settlement in Afghanistan," it said.

Russians dont like Karl Marx. These days few even know him or Engels. They prefer Stalin (and that too only some of them)....and even with that they overall do not prefer Stalin statues (because many despise him).

one of my colleagues in a jamahiri movement-building project in 2011 and 2012 was a young russian student living in germany and he had a marxist background.

below photo is from a russian jamahiri committee's website[3]... it is in moscow and it has the long-serving first secretary of the "communist party of the russian federation" ( largest opposition party in russia ) and head of the "international union of the communist parties of cis countries and the baltic states", gennady zyuganov[4], in a rally of some libyan jamahiri delegates...

above are simple examples but very important and prove that your assessment about marx no longer respected in russia is incorrect... the communists in russia are as internationalist as ever. :)

Like I said, a few here and there are present everywhere in the world. There are quite a few here in Canada too, I even dated a far extreme left french canadian gal some years back...some interesting conversations were had ;).

There is no big marxist movement/culture within Russia anymore. The youth pretty much have no feelings towards it at all....its either nationalism or nothing. Economics...its more does it work and thats it. No deeper philosophical approach or attempt at understanding. Its true in most of the world I am afraid. At least the socialists/marxists back in the day cared about the subject quite deeply (which I completely support though I do no support their views most of the time).
