India tells Asean it believes in ‘open’ South China Sea

China should now actively back NE insurgents and by the time of next 1962 NE would be ready for independence. India only
understand things the hard way.

They should ..but they do not ..for they realize that two can play at this game. For Tibetans too are looking for some one to back them up.

Hard to say.

USA has Guan hundred times farther away from USA main land, nobody questions it. Thus, distance is NOT an issue. How about the conflict over Falkland islands between UK and Argentina?

Guan claim is based on WWII legacy, by force. Chinese claim of SCS is based on historical heritage activities, not by force.

Admit it: current international norms are built on Western regulations more or less enforced by forces and threat to use forces, which are in turn based on use of forces. Thus, China’s claim is doubted by many, especially those once thoroughly conquered in the past by West.

BTW, China's control of SCS doesn't mean the sea lanes are not open to public transportation. Thus, your statement "Any iterations of peaceful rises and securities on commercial sea lanes become hollow." is a twist of truth, if it is not an outright lie.

I think China has every right to fight for the islands. In fact she should use some of the islands as a land-based carrier system. After all with her military muscle and her economic power, she is entitled and has the responsibilities to keep the sea lanes safe on her backyards. Not some foreign cops from thousand of miles away.

When she drew that line she leaves herself wide open for others to criticize for her aggressions. And US steps right in by the invitations of the others.

Small nations don't mind a little hegemonic behaviors from a strong powerful nation as long as they feel safe and doing business with that nation.

You stop the Saudi and Iranian oil from going to market.
A. They stop exporting oil to you

More teenage mental masturbation from Indian fanbois

Ok, who falls in first, second and third tire? And under what criteria?

And in which criteria does China falls?

These small nations then give invitation to big powers then .......every small nation have equal respect in their own eyes as any other big nation have

Tier 4 is reserved for Navies whose ship sink by themselves at dock and has to rent subs from other countries.

Tier 1 is obviously the US.

China is somewhere between Tier 1 and Tier 4. Hope that answers your question.

China drew the line back in early 1900s by ROC government. Nobody criticized it until recent decades.

On the contrary, I don’t think China would launch a large scale military action in SCS now, because it is contrary to its current own interest: China would do anything to maintain the momentum of its development. Any war would interrupt the momentum.

Once China has more money, and grows more muscle, and is therefore more confident, more options would be on the table, including but not limited to subvert the existing governments with little or no violence.

Even China resorts to forces, it MUST promise an open sea lane for every (non-hostile) country to gain support and to benefit itself. Closed SCS sea lane is not in China’s economic interest.

Small nations need to utilize a big power to balance against another power. This is international relationship class 101. Vietnam War is a typical example. If the small nations do not play the fire carefully, the nations themselves run the risk of vanishing from the world map.

Vietnam (and the Philippines to less extent) can change its friends, but it can’t change the fact that China is its neighbor.

Yup, sure it does with valid explanations. On the sinking part, do you mean like this?

I knew Indians would post that pic. Gosh, you guys are predictable.

That's not a commissioned warship. It's still under construction. Intellectual dishonesty and half-truths are Indian hallmarks.

You wan't something different. Oh, maybe you're talking about how ship sinks after collision.

Talking big doesn't suit you, try some introspection. INS Vindyagiri sank after collision, not at its dock.

Vietnam has been controlled Islands from many hundreds year ago, without any claim from China, until 1900s year when Vietnam Authority protested to China that Chinese sea pirates disturbed Vietnam Fishermen at HoangSA Island, Canton Governor answered that: Island not belong to China then China don't have responsibilities for that.
China don't have right to claim Islands, this belong to Vietnam, same as China Quing's Dynasty accepted.

Krishna sounds timid to me. Maybe the indians are having second thoughts about jumping into the South China Sea dispute.
