Potential, yes. Every country in the region has future potential. Look at Bangladesh, not many natural resources just concentrated on one industry and have beaten you economically in a few decades. They have no hostility with their neighbours and don't worry 24X7 about some mythical invasion that is going to wipe them out.

Without cross border trade, your economic potential is greatly diminished. You seem to not have an iota of knowledge in trade and economics that's why you're making such assumptions.
