New Delhi: Reacting strongly to reports that China has in its recent map shown Arunachal Pradesh as its territory, India on Saturday said "cartographic depiction" does not change reality on the ground and asserted that Arunachal was an integral part of the country.

Asked about recent China maps which show disputed areas in Arunachal and South China Sea as its own, the Spokesperson in the External Affairs Ministry said, "The cartographic depictions do not change the reality on the ground.

"The fact that Arunachal Pradesh in integral and inalienable part of India has been conveyed to Chinese authority at several occasions including at the very highest level."

He also indicated that this may be raised by the Indian delegation, headed by Vice President Hamid Ansari, currently in China to participate in an event to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of Panchsheel or Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

"It is normal practice to raise all issues of bilateral concerns," the Spokesperson said when asked if Ansari will raise it during his meetings with the Chinese leadership.

According to reports, China in its recent maps has shown disputed areas in Arunachal and South China Sea as its own.

Asked about reports of fresh incursions by Chinese troops in Ladakh region, the Spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied such incident and merely said Indian soldiers guarding country's borders were capable to secure our land.

bro get off the chinese worshiping bandwagon they are no saints they claim AP it's a known fact ,as soon as they resolve south china sea issue, they will come back at us the thing is they are not fully capable yet to take over AP but after a few more years you would notice how and what they do ....they need not to fight us once they are cable nuff they will take over AP much like what russians did in Ukraine

China again in trolling mode

Sometimes they give me the feeling that CPC is not in control of the PLA and instead it is Pakistan like system. Their minister says something and then their troops always do the opposite.

Do you really think there is a rising tension between CCP and PLA?

Next claim? Chennai and Trivandrum.
They didn't claim J&K it's Aksai Chin

Ok if that's the case Not tell me one incident were we Engaged with any Chinese Soldier in an conventional Skirmishes over Border.

Everything deserves an appropriate response. I am sure that the current central government has a fair sense of proportionality and the issue must be escalated adequately.
