Exactly a fortnight after he got vaccinated against COVID-19, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Saturday tested positive for the infection. The minister himself made the disclosure on his Facebook and Twitter accounts this morning.
Following the development, Vij has been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment area.
Vij tweeted: “I have been tested Corona positive. I am admitted in Civil Hospital Ambala Cantt. All those who have come in close contact to me are advised to get themselves tested for corona.”


On November 20, Vij was administered a dose of Covaxin, being indigenously developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), in Ambala as part of the third phase of the trial of the potential vaccine against COVID-19.
With Vij testing positive for the virus 15 days after getting the dose, doubts are being raised on the effectiveness of the vaccine.
