Spain? what have they got to offer?

Spain has a respectable defence industry and given what India is looking to do in the coming years it is yet another good friend to have in the bag.

- Airbus C295
- Airbus A330 Tankers (the tanker modifications will be done in Spain)
- Juan Carlos I class LHDs
- Galicia class LPDs
- S80 SSKs

Just to name a few things.

I think we must try to acquire the designs of LHD/LPDs from Spain and build
them in India -

I am currently doing a bit research on them as well, they are jointly developed from Spain and the Netherlands. The vessel in your pic is actually a multi-function support ship, which combines and LDP with a Tanker. It still can carry vehicles and troops (although less then a normal LDP/LHD) and still has a well deck, but they also have tanker for fuel, water and can carry ammo, spares and food:

I wonder if it wouldn't be better for IN to get 2 x LHDs and add a higher number of these support ships, instead of 4 x LHD/LDPs. The advantage is, that the ships will be always in operational service, but in different roles. An LDP on the other side will only be used if a war requires amphibious landings or a natural disaster happens, in the meantime there is real use for it, as we can see at INS Jalashwa at the moment.

Quite a lot of stuff. Do research on their military equipment and arsenal that they designed and built themselves.

The idea is to exchange key technologies and understand European know-how. It is not just always about buying something.

If this can diversify our sources, why not?

You need to have an open mind and an amazing historical strategist mentor to understand this. ;)

I wonder if Anthony plans to do the Senorita song dance for this.
