Upping its ante, Pakistan on Thursday asserted that it had never accepted Kashmir's accession to India saying that the UNSC mandate remains till the Kashmir issue is resolved.

Slamming the remarks, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said, “Pakistan’s statements do not matter as Kashmir will always remain the integral part of India.”

Echoing similar views, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “Pakistan’s statements need not to be taken seriously.”

SP leader Naresh Agarwal and NCP leader Tariq Anwar also slammed Pakistan, saying the statement made by the authorities of the neighbouring country should not bother us in any way.

“Those who say Kashmir is not a part of India is unaware of history, CPI leader Atul Anjan said.

Defence Analyst Uday Bhaskar also rejected Pakistan government’s statement, saying it keeps issuing such remarks which hold no meaning as Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.

Never accepted Kashmir's accession to India, says Pakistan

Reacting to India's move asking the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to vacate their office building in New Delhi, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam on Thursday said that such measures would not have any impact on the legal status of the Kashmir dispute.

"Asking the UN observers to move out of a building or payment of rent is inconsequential in the context of the status of Jammu & Kashmir. There is a reason why UNMOGIP is present in the first place. Asking them to move out of the building does not abolish the mandate which was given by the UN Security Council in 1951 under Resolution 91.

"As long as the Kashmir dispute is not resolved, the UNSC mandate remains. These measures are inconsequential and they do not have any impact on the legal status of the dispute," she said.

India's stand is that UNMOGIP's role has been overtaken by the Simla Agreement and the consequent establishment of the Line of Control.

India on Tuesday said it has told the UNMOGIP to vacate its government bungalow to "rationalise" the presence of the group which the government says has "outlived its relevance".

Asserting that it has been India's "consistent and long- standing view that UNMOGIP has outlived its mandate," spokesperson in the Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin said they have "monetised" various facilities extended to the organisation. UNMOGIP was given the premises free of charge 40 years ago.

UNMOGIP observers have been located at the ceasefire line between India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir since 1949 and supervise the truce between the two neighbours.

What will Pakistan do with the Pandit issue?

Once Pakistan was a part of India.May be next time it will be applicable to Pakistan:yu:..
We need to bring back the Mauraya or Gupta empire and conquer Pakistan just like our ancestors did.

Indian colonial occupation of Kashmir will end just as the British rule ended from India.
Sir ji we are merely following historical precedent by ruling Kashmir as we Indians have great respect for history.

I don't know why these Indians are so butt-hurt it has been the official stance of Pakistan government for a long time. Secondly all political parties are responding in detail then saying that Pakistani statement doesn't matter.

India is a weird place.

-Between Muslims and Britishers how many ancestors were there? A cursory glance at Indian history paints a very shoddy picture of those ancestors.

- The way you are following it, the historical precedent of minorities breaking away to form separate countries will be repeated too. I hope this doesn't cause you to lose respect for tradition.
