India is made of states.

In future, from NCTC to Teesta river pact to SL issue, Indian central govt. will have to do what the states want. That is the nature of the Indianf ederal system.

If the Indian states want India to vote against SL, I don't think why India should not vote against SL.

India should vote taking into consideration the greater good of the nation, and not the whims and fancies of a particular state. I as a Keralite would like GoI to stop the import of rubber so that Kerala can get huge revenues by selling their rubber without competition and I don't care if the tyre industries go to hell. Will GoI oblige.
