India should market LCA Tejas Trainer has lead-in fighter trainer (LIFT)

LIFT version of Tejas should be considerably cheaper than fighter version.

This is actually a Great Idea. All orders for LCA Mk-I can be turned into the two seater trainer. They can be used in combat and will be excellent for training pilots when teh LCA Mk-II arrives. If HAL can start production of MK-II in the next 4 years then it will be Ideal.. Its a Win Win.

if Tejas Mk1 was considered for LIFT it's closest rival would be T-50 Golden Eagle, both use the GE 404 engine

T-50 Golden Eagle is just beautiful don't see how Tejas Mk1 would win out against it for orders
that maneuverability and agility .

Well I thing Tejas is better when you look at the numbers-the TWR,wing loading etc.I don't think pilots who flew tejas for airshows pushed it hard,tejas was a prototype back then.
