India shot down its own helicopter while trying to target Pakistani jets, killing 7 – report

After a month, your airspace is closed. Multan airport was closed for reasons nobody knows.
Karachi port is deserted with your entire navy out patrolling. Merchant ships movement was halted for several weeks. We didn't retaliate because one elections are near and Modi might not have got the political support for that, second our pilot was in your custody, didn't want him to be harmed. And your bombs could do shit and we also downed a F-16.
our airspace is closed only for India.. which is costing Air India a lot ..
PNSC just inducted another Merchant Ship

coward India didn't retaliate because Pakistan was and is controlling the escalation ladder. Next Option was Missiles and Pakistan had clearly stated that retaliation from Pakistan would threefold. Indian Election or Puppet Modi are nobody here since India is being run by Hindu Fascist Deep State!!!!

This battle ended in Pakistan's victory. Period.

India's air defence missile of Israeli-origin

:D:D

There is one thing to use the weapons on unarmed stone throwing Palestine's youth then to take them in a battle against a regional power which is armed to tooth!

One this is for sure, the Pakistan surgical strikes and shooting down of IAF jets as collateral damage has busted many myths surrounding the Israeli and western weapon systems.

.
Good point, he recognized the pilot was Sikh because he had a beard. Surely the pilot wasn't wearing a turban. IAF pilots cannot have beards, but PAF pilots do have. Secondly he did show blood on his shirt which according to him was of that Sikh pilot. I hope he is recovering well in your Army hospital.

You Indian lose your marbles in debate very easily. Beard you said? Sikhs are not identified with their beard but their hair as well. This is your incumbent air chief.

Does he have to chop his hair every time he goes airborne?

.
i think india deliberately downed their own helicopter after their su30 was downed by Paf to confuse wreckage of su30 with their helicopter as su30 fell inside iok and pilots were killed or injured so they did this to fool world and their public

.
Both f16 story and su30 story are cooked up propaganda story. If their isn't a photograpic evidence in this age of cellphone camera ,it dint happen.

Budgam: Indian missile fired before Mi17 V5 chopper crash
Preliminary findings show system was activated after Mi17 V5 showed on radar; IAF for tough action.

NEW DELHI: Investigators have found that an Indian air defence missile was fired shortly before the crash of a Mi17 V5 helicopter at Budgam, near Srinagar on February 27, which resulted in the deaths of six air force personnel and a citizen on ground. The investigators are examining the sequence of events which preceded the crash.
The final moments preceding the crash, including if the IFF (Identity, Friend or Foe) systems were switched on or not, are being carefully looked at to determine what went wrong. The air force brass, highly placed sources told ET, has made it clear that it would not shy away from initiating court martial proceedings against personnel if they are found blameworthy in the inquiry.
ET has learnt that the focus of the investigation now is to determine if multiple layers of safeguards meant to protect assets from friendly fire failed and how systems need to be improved to prevent any such incident in the future. Sources said that the missile – believed to be of Israeli origin – was activated after an air defence alert was sounded over Jammu and Kashmir, besides other parts of the border, after a over 25 Pakistani air force jets were detected along the border on the morning feb 27
The alert, sources said, indicated that Pakistani jets may be trying to breach the border for a strike on Indian military targets and there were concerns that armed UAVs available with that country may also have been deployed. A slow moving target like the Mi 17 V 5 helicopter could potentially be mistaken for a low flying armed UAV homing into an air base, according to these sources.

“When an air defence alert is sounded, several things take place. There are a set of rules that transport aircraft and helicopters need to follow and there are set entry and egress routes demarcated for aircraft flying. Also, aircraft are to switch on their IFF (Identify, Friend or Foe) systems,” sources told ET.

They added that all angles are being probed to determine if lapses took place and where. A senior officer is conducting the court of inquiry into the crash and has been given access to all inputs available with ground controllers as well as the actions of the helicopter in the ten minutes that it was in the air. As reported by ET, the chopper crashed in the 10-minute span when IAF jets were engaged in an aerial battle with the Pakistan Air Force fighters, along the Line of Control in the
Nowshera sector, and air defence systems were on operational alert. Command and control systems were under immense pressure as reports of attempted intrusions were sounded along the border.

The Indian side officially acknowledged the crash but has not mentioned it in official statements on the aerial battle and the current conflict with Pakistan. In its official statement, the Pakistani military acknowledged the aerial battle over Nowshera but said its fighters were not involved in the chopper incident.

Mi17V5 is one of the sturdiest choppers in service across the world and is not usually prone to technical faults of catastrophic nature. Eyewitness reported that a loud explosion was heard in the air before the chopper crashed in a trail of smoke, indicating a possible catastrophic external event contributed to the incident.

What I have told you few days back?

Actually in all this mayhem, this has to be the sanest logical conclusion. Very hard to keep an image of a downed jet in control. The heli is prime example of that.

I think it wasn't even mahem yet. Both countries have over patriotic populace ( politics keeps them this way to save itself from answering unfavourable questions) .
Civil population of both countries , except people residing on or near the border , have hardly seen any real war yet. Most conflicts between India and Pakistan have been called of for various reasons before bombs knocked on civilian doors.

Indian Missile Mistakenly Hit its Own Chopper in Conflict with Pakistan - Report

An Indian missile may have hit its own military helicopter on 27 February while trying to target 25 Pakistani fighter jets flying over its territory in retaliation to an Indian airstrike a day earlier in Pakistani territory to destroy alleged terror infrastructure.

New Delhi (Sputnik): India's air defence missile of Israeli-origin may have shot down its own Mi-17 V5 military chopper, following an alert on 27 February about 25 Pakistani fighter jets hovering over the border area that separates the two countries, reports the Indian daily The Economic Times.

The incident had occurred a day after the Indian Air Force (IAF) avenged the 14 February Pulwama militant attack by a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militant along the Jammu —Kashmir Highway on a CRPF troop convoy in which over 40 personnel were killed and many others left wounded.

The Mi-17 V5 helicopter lifted off from Srinagar airfield at 10:00 a.m. local time for a routine mission. The helicopter crashed around 10:10 a.m. near Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. All six Indian Air force (IAF) personnel on board were killed in the crash, a leading Indian daily reported on Friday citing the initial report.

The investigation's focus is to determine "if multiple layers of safeguards meant to protect assets from friendly fire failed and how systems need to be improved to prevent any such incident in future", it reported.

The Indian authorities maintain that the IAF strike was carried out against suspected terror infrastructure operated by JeM, the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation that claimed responsibility for the Pulwama attack.

A day after the Indian side launched the air strike in Balakot (in Pakistan), the two nuclear armed nations engaged in an air clash, a first in five decades. According to reports, at least 25 fighter jets from the Pakistan Air Force tried to breach the border for a strike on military targets. A slow moving target like the Mi-17 V5 helicopter could be mistaken for a low flying armed UAV homing into an air base, said the media report citing sources.

The IAF has stated it wouldn't hesitate from initiating Court Martial proceedings against personnel found guilty in the inquiry.

.
I am Vietnamese, Vietnam has also bought Israeli weapons, it's really not as good as the advertisement. Galil guns are really not good, test SPYDER failed

maybe use Google translate :D

We inform the Russians that SPYDER is not good, it is not suitable for Vietnam
Israel's Spyder air defense missile system does not meet Vietnam's expectations

SPYDER was destroyed by Russia in Georgia 2008, it almost did not take down any Russian aircraft

A SPYDER system was captured by Russia 2008
