India selling weapons to the Syrian rebels?

US need us today as a balance against China.

Regarding Hezbo, Mobile warfare has been a bane of all militias and armies operating in ME. No one in your region has developed operational procedures to deployed massed Armor.

This is the reason that FSA is still standing firm even after Assad having an Advantage in Armor and Air power.

If They want to defeat Assad and Hezbo, they need to develop leadership capabilities to flank and trap Assad's army. They should learn tactics by studying Israel war doctrines.Israel won 1967 war even after being at much greater disadvantage vis-a-vis Arab armies than rebel are wrt to SAA today.

Also only practical hope of rebels to win in syria is if you people supply good quality ATGM's and SAM's.No one would let these weapons reach rebels unless FSA get rid of AL-Nusra.

Assad today has control of major strategic regions in syria. Even Hama is isolated. Without outside help, defeat of rebels is certain.

Well,

The US may need India tomorrow, but bear in mind that the rising of India is a matter of concern for them. Yesterday it was China and today is India, you know? With the fluctuation of Western economies everything is predictable.

Well, Assad has control of most strategic regions in Syria, but still, most of rural areas, boarders with Turkey and Jordan is under the FSA control.

Two months ago, KSA started to supply the FSA of heavy arms. Most of the upper offensive weapons started to flaw in their hands two weeks ago, so I'm optimistic about what the FSA is going to achieve.

You raised a very valid point by the way my friend, the FSA won't survive without foreign supplies Hezbollah may put the nail in the FSA coffin  which will never happen as KSA has vowed not to allow Hezbollah to cross the line once more after Al-Qusair.

All weapons shipments being sent from KSA to the FSA is being received by the Commander of the FSA himself Gen. Idriss. The very least thing KSA wishes to see is Al-Nusrah with ATGM's or MANPAD's

@Yzd Khalifa

In America, there are members of Congress and some right wing political think tanks who see a (nonexistent) threat from China (various reasons they give is that China is communist, or they don't want to let out their true feelings - China is not white) and they want America to make massive concessions to Russia and ally with Russia to "contain" China (which has not made any move to invade America or Russia), the reason they give is that now that the Soviet Union is gone Russia is a "democratic" "western" (code word for white) country and it should join NATO. (Basically the only reason they were upset at the Soviet Union before was that it was "communist", not at anything the Soviets actually did. If the Soviet Union wasn't communist they would totally have supported its crimes in Afghanistan)

Among the things they want is for a total cutoff of aid to the Syrian rebels and allow Russia to keep Assad in power and allow Russia a free hand in the middle east. People like Representative Rohrabacher and Pat Buchanan think this way, and alot of Obama's advisors think this way. Thats why Obama did the whole "reset" of relations with Russia, granting them concessions on the missle shield and "pivot to asia" against China.

Obama still doesn't really want to support the Syrian rebels. But thankfully Senators John McCain, Menedez and others have been keeping up the pressure on his incompetent administration and standing up to the Russians. Obama's pivot and reset are unraveling before our eyes. :omghaha: If the Russian base in Tartus is gone, Russia will have suffered a massive blow in prestige and Obama's reset is going even further down the drain. A rebel victory in Syria will benefit everyone except Russia and the suckers like the obese Rohrabacher and other pro Russia, anti China politicians in America. It would wipe the smirks off their faces.

The right wing nuts come in shapes and sizes.

They are characterized by their conducts, encrypted name-calling approach, and their ultra Neo-cons doctrine.

I remember that Michael Bachman once flamed at a Hindu Congressman as well as a Muslim one. Mrs. Bachman said that when our founding fathers founded this republic our country was built on Jedo-Christian values, but today we are welcome a Hindu and a Muslim who don't deserve to be here.

Back to China

The US concerns about China is quite legitimate but disproportionate and excessive.

While the China's economy is on the rise, America's economy is shrinking. The US feels that it might lose its role on the international stage due to the competitiveness with China. No body can predict what the PRC is going to be in the next two decades, but the US feels threatens that China might encircle its global military empire.

Currently, The Obama administration is too reluctant about the outcome of arming the rebel, but we have been acting on our by the end of 2011.

Maybe the Russians are excreting a pressure on Obama to persuade him not to send weapons to the rebels in Syria.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Russians getting their @$$es kicked from Tartus and never come back again.

From 5-10 years from now, I can easily predict that China will become public enemy Nu.1.

The rebel in the foreground is armed with an Israeli FN FAL with a low-zoom tactical-style scope mounted atop.

This Israeli FN FAL has a distinctive fore-end, heatshied and flash-hiderless barrel. This gun was probably supplied or sold to the rebels by a neighboring Arab state from an old stockpile of captured Israeli weaponry. The FN FAL was Israel’s standard service rifle during the Six-Day War and Yom Kippur War.

So, Aeronaut bhai, why are you bent upon sullying India's image without doing some research first?

It would have been better if you had produced some proof of Indian weapons being used by the BLA instead. Which needless to say, you haven't done so far, but keep blaming the Yindoos of arming them to the teeth! :P

.
It is recorded that India indirectly sold weapons to ISI which they knew were going to be used against the USSR [Their allies] during the Afghan Jehad. This is the Indian INSAS rifle in the hands of a Syrian rebel. Is India selling weapons to the Syrian rebels,or is it some other weapon?

Your right, but Rohrabacher and his slimy friends who now include Rep Steve King are still baiting Muslims and even called "radical islam" an enemy of both Russia and America besids China, because of the still ongoing insurgency in the Caucasus.

Congressmen find few Boston attack clues in Russia - Associated Press - POLITICO.com

Russia’s foe is America’s, say GOP visitors - Washington Post

'US should just stay out of Syria' - US congressman Rohrabacher : The Voice of Russia: News, Breaking news, Politics, Economics, Business, Russia, International current events, Expert opinion, podcasts, Video

Please dump Nusra and co. in the Caucasus when Syria is done. They described radical Islam as their enemy so they are asking for it, lol.

India would never support Syrian Rebels... period
I would go a step ahead and say that India would never support any rebels without any announcement, implicit or explicit. The old days of cold war wilderness are over.

Looking at all the craziness in Syria now, Assad looks like the best guy among the lot. He is at least liberal. If any of the crazy rebel groups come to power, they won't even let girls go to school. And so the West would create and nurture another enemy for themselves because they just couldn't hate Iran enough. Wait till the demons come home to roost. Idiots don't realize this simple logic even after Libya and Mali. So as they leave one Afghanistan, they go ahead and create one more in Syria with a vain hope that the extremist who comes to power can be tamed to not be hostile to Israel or friendly to Iran.

@Mosamania

I didn't say 'It is INSAS'.
I asked 'If it is INSAS'

It could be some FN FAL ripp off, as INSAS itself is a hybrid FN FAL/AK-47.
