OBOR also includes India. The belt will pass through India, BD, Indian NE and Burma. If China wishes, the Belt may not include Indian NE, and it goes through BD and Burma. Please read the map. Bd has more than 200 km broder with Burma.

Bangladesh has its land and sea connection where it matters and any non indian geo political analysis easily sees that reality. Bangladesh has shortest distance route through Chittagong to Myanmar through Asian highway route 41. Rail connection also goes from Chittagon, Cox's Bazar to Myanmar. Bangladesh maritime connectivity to Myanmar, Thailand and other ASEAN ports are much shorter than india.

I mean China wants an unrestricted access to sea ( in case of war or hostilities ) . If war breaks out b/w China and India , IN will block the sea lanes without hesitation thus stopping all kind of import and export .

How is the Bay of Bengal of no use to China when it can be used to access 5 countries including the andoman and nicobar islands, & don't undermine maritime business. I would not mind the slightest if Chinese fleet was present in Bay of Bengal.

When you say BD is surrounded by India, the only part we really consider India is West Bengal & onwards...Furthermore the chickens neck (Siliguri corridor), is not far from Tibet.

Also , in case of any conflict , USN will also be there to help IN . So basically , PLAAN cant do any offence against IN in BAY of Bengal . The PLAN will have to face both IN and USN . So , this corridor is good for some trade . but strategically its of no importance .
