While you are at it, do also check out the average income of an Indian and that of a Pakistani. And the per capita GDP of both. It is ludicrous for somebody poorer than us and spending more on weapons than us in proportion, to be lecturing us on these matters.

It really is ludicrous for a nation of such huge population size to compare itself with its smaller neighbors.

Its also very amusing seeing Indians registering and posting matters of their interest in a Pakistani forum. Perhaps its a reflection of this national trait I've referred to in the above paragraph.

We all understand that and its just a rhetoric to say its whole of annual defence budget. The question is the capital outlay of IAF is appr. 5 billion dollars per annum and that includes so many essential acquisitions. If these deals are signed up then IAF's capital outlay will simply have to double and that means huge increase in defence budget i.e. roughly 10% increase only due to these deals and then we have navy, army aviation and mountain corps awaiting huge allocations. Nice if we can manage without cutting on essentials.

Ma'am,our current Defense budget is around 1.75% of our GDP which is perhaps the lowest among all the "big" powers in the current global scenario.But this also means that if need arises then our Govt. can increase the budget by even 1%.Plus the Indian economy is projected to grow well over 7% in the coming years.So i don't think it will be a problem for the GoI to increase the defense budget to around 3% of our GDP.

noice, i wonder what Pakistan response will be?? JF-17 or even J-10B wouldn't stand much a chance against FGFA...so does that leave only J-31??? and I don't think J-31 wouldn't be much of a match either.

No meaning in comparison between India and Pakistan. Now my point is what Chinese has in future to challenge IAF . With J10B J20 J 31 Su35 against Super Sukoi , Su35S 5TH-GENERATION version with internal bay and wide range of new weapons , FGFA , AMCA and last but not least 4++ gen Light Combat Aircraft MK2 . My point is even Chinese will have to do more to have current aircraft superiority over India . India is slow but very cleaver and very steady . Now India will have 40 LCA 1 and atleast 80 LCA 2 after 2020 . Upgraded Mig 29 , Mirage and Jags fo the next 15 years atleast . 270+ SU30 MKI which will be upgraded into Super Sukoi with SU35S standards , atleast 100+ AMCA for the next 2 decades starting from 2024-25 .

Master stroke was this . An advanced new 5th generation air superiority fighter bomber . From most versatile aircraft built . West called it as UFO Fighter. Su35S. Now upgraded version will add much needed capability to carry out task well over 2030s .

This will be total domination of IAF for the next few decades. Still I wish IAF will go for Deep Strike heavy Bombers like B2 just for future requirement .
