India says Pakistan has taken positive measures against perpetrators of Mumbai attack

India said on Friday that Pakistan has taken "positive measures" to book the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks, but asked Islamabad to do more against terrorism.

Indian Minister of External Affairs S.M. Krishna said that Pakistan has taken positive measures on the basis of the dossiers India has provided.

"However, we are still to see Pakistan take effective steps to end infiltration and dismantle the terror mechanism on its territory," he said in his address at a meeting of diaspora here.

"We support a stable Pakistan at peace with itself. We wish to address the issues between us through dialogue. But we have made it clear that this would be possible only in an atmosphere free of terror," he said.

I am also recalling how Indian reacted after Nuclear tests and were bashing like a mad bull and within 16 next days they were singing songs of brotherhood and friendship.

Twisting any statement is not good practise. Gen. Kapoor was not advocating invasion of Pakistan. He was telling about multiple front war if India is attacked likewise.

Gen. kapoor has named two countriees. It is noteworthy that one understand and shows maturity by silence. Even there are other positive steps after that. Other, as expected, is just cryig and running like here and there.

You are forgetting the best part my friend, it was our president, His excellency Sir Asif Ali Zardari that put clarification on behalf of India after Indian planes tried to cross the border soon after Mumbai Attacks. We admit we are being ruled by American implanted inanes. Previously it was American @ss licker, Sir Musharaf but he wasn't as shameless towards India as our present chair holder. Just wait for the time when Democracy returns to Paksitan and it is getting back within months as this chair holder gets disqualified because of his cases of corruption.

Regarding Kargil, I think its evident that who invaded who's land and who dared not to retaliate when when forces were being pulled back. I agree we did not capture new areas but you can call India only as successful as Pakistan was in 1965 and that was "it defended the territory against aggression".

It is completely Pakistan's internal affair. However he is President therefore his statement plays a role in diplomacy and in international lobies. He might be unpopular but he holds some authority till he has the job.

Yes. Everyone knows who invaded who. In same post you said India defended its territory so it is easy to find who invaded.
What do I understand by not retaliating? How India recaptured its land without retailation. There is different word for what you are suggesting...perhaps "invasion"?
Actually after this whole episode both India and Pakistan were back on square1. However every military action has some objective. In that way, Pakistan objective was failed to gain new areas. India objective was fulfilled to re-capture those which went to Pakistan. The worldwide condemnation and support/sympathy for India was bonus for India and major setback for Pakistan.

We should care, and act accordingly, as they have a bigger say in world affairs since they represent 1/6th of the worlds population and are trusted more so they would never do anything stupid such as to go on the 'offense' which we have been doing. They are just trying to scare us with the 'strikes' but ultimately what we are doing is for ourselves, and our forced ally, USA.
