it is still not big comparing with major China's major trading partners,and you think you can save 29 billion,that's a funny Indians idea,you have to buy,maybe from somewhere else,that will cost you more,you can't save that money.

Your friend just predicted we will be top 5 trading partner in coming years so it is to your advantage to reduce trade barriers.

We both are resilient economies and going strong in spite of global downturn. If we both work towards reducing trade barriers, then we can easily touch $100 billion trade in couple of years.

China is going to be our major trading partner for long time to come and we have to adjust when we open the flood gates. Our import burden will not reduce if we stop trading from China... we will be shifting our suppliers to some other country, maybe at a higher cost to consumers.

In one sense China is improving our standard of life by providing us consumer goods and appliances at low cost. Just look at impact of cheap Chinese goods on United States and you see average American's standard of life has improved for better and has more disposable income left to spend on other luxuries.
