India’s secret ICBM ambitions

Even china dont have any miniaturized warhead and all its warheads are fighter delivered. Thats why they are hesitating on taking Taiwan back because they know they cant nuke US.

All chini missiles are dud and cant be used even as artillery shell.

Now happy troll?

LOL. China does have miniature warheads similar to W88.

The most interesting and controversial debate regarding China's reverse-engineering was the development of China's W-88 class miniaturized thermonuclear warhead. The U.S. claims China appropriated the designs and reverse-engineered the W-88 warhead. China says that isn't true.

China says this is a case of convergent engineering. For example, an airplane must have two wings to provide lift and an engine to provide thrust in the rear. Another example of convergent engineering is all rockets are long and thin. In other words, form must follow function. There is only a very limited way to create a massive thermonuclear explosion using a compact warhead.

Here is the crux of the problem. "U.S. government realized that information derived from Chinese tests in 1992-1996 were similar to U.S. nuclear designs." The Chinese nuclear tests data are "similar," but not identical to U.S. nuclear tests on the W-88.

W88 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The W88 is a United States thermonuclear warhead, with an estimated yield of 475 kiloton (kt), and is small enough to fit on MIRVed missiles. The W88 was designed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the 1970s. In 1999 the director of Los Alamos who had presided over its design described it as "The most advanced U.S. nuclear warhead."[1]

The Trident II SLBM can be armed with up to 8 W88 (475 kt) warheads (Mark 5) or 8 W76 (100 kt) warheads (Mark 4), but it is limited to 4 warheads under SORT."

"...According to the Cox Committee Report, suspicion of China's nuclear espionage started after the U.S. government realized that information derived from Chinese tests in 1992-1996 were similar to U.S. nuclear designs. This similarity, combined with other information derived from classified sources, led the Cox Committee to claim that China had stolen several bomb designs, including the U.S.' most advanced W-88 design and a design for an enhanced radiation weapon (neutron bomb). Yet, the Cox Report has been severely criticized by both experts and officials in the United States as a political document that has several technical inaccuracies."

India thinks a country's power is connect with the membership at the per. U.N. club and therefore she wants to become a member too even though she is NOT even a regional power when China is just next door.

Till we occupy the super dooper Hafizzz master's china land and mega dooper pakistan land, we dont have any aspirations of become any xyz power.

Chinese Tundae -- come up with better source atleast.

and I know china has miniaturised nukes and so as India. I am just replying troll in his own language.

Why is are you trying to talk about others when the topic is about building ICBM without warheads for the missiles.

. .
When we share their technology we comes in open and pay for it. Do we seem hiding ToT? Heck we are actually promoting ToT.

And if we are getting so much help from US, Russia and hell of the whole world why still we are coming up with just good product?

Why are we still failing and failing before finally succeeding?

Why we still have 50 tonne missile for 5500 Km range and not some 30 tonne?

Reason is because we are learning and we are getting into grove and will take time to master.

well, India is getting assistance now. So there are improvements. But everyone is not handing a finish product to India so India need to put the parts together. There are still failures as India do not always success in systems integration.

And whatever you say becomes a gospel truth when India is developing each and every missile nuke capable.

Heck even the oldest prithvi series is nuke capable and here some chinese comes and start shouting india dont have any warheads to use on atleast 7-8 different nuke capable missiles.

Even when provided with links by some other member, keeps on harping crap.

You even know indian Agni missiles are under SFC? And we have a special command to launch 5000 km artillery?

Don't be like that mate he gets his 50 cents from that if you take that away then he will have to go CCP reform school.

Assistance is the key word and no one denies. Whats the fight for?

But assistance can help you in crossing the finishing line but then you have to run the marathon on your own.

actually, assistance is in the form of helping a 3 year old finish a marathon by giving him a ride in an air conditioned sedan.

@walle

so that should tell you that 50 tonne Agni V can go 15000 KM with 2.5 ton payload.

When 40 tonne DF-41 can do 14000 with 1.5 tonne payload.

DF-31A: 12000km & 1750kg

DF-31/-31A (CSS-9) | Missile ThreatMissile Threat

If Agni V is 15000km with 2500kg of payload, then it is superior to the Trident II D5 missile, would you believe that India as a greenhorn of ICBM technology can already produce a superior ICBM to the king of the ICBM/SLBM world? :coffee:

We did actually detonate it back in 1992, it is slightly bigger than W88, but it can yield more than twice as much.

Agni 5 is speculated by other countries analyst of being ICBM and that India had understated the range and that the actual range is 8000 km. The published range by DRDO and the government is 5500 Km with that being said, I don't feel India currently needs a missile that has range greater than that of agni 5.
