In response to sending ssks instead of noisy SSns -
Sending SSks to the strait region would be foolish.They would have to operate far from their natural bases in the homeland and though ssks are more quieter are unsuitable for long range operations as they have to surface to recharge their batteries...becoming easy pickings for aircraft.SSks are deadly in coastal regions to defend ur coastline..so to send an effective offensive combat group it wold have to be ssns.Even the to be inducted 2015 SSn is behind in detectability than an akula I.....So some work to do there and some time before we see chinese submarine led combat groups streaming through the malacca into the IOR.
