The new fighters would be 42 fighters for 3.33 billion USD, which would price them at 79 million per fighter although that includes servicing contracts and engine reserves etc, so that would put the price at 70 million for each Su-30 MKI?

Something is not right. The cost is about half on wikipedia.

Now I am sure ...F18 will be the chosen one in the MRCA tender....

Russians are happy so they are not going to bother about that one MRCA loss......and now India has to please Americans.......

India will procure F18 and place them along China border...with some support form Su 30 MKIs.....where as Su30 MKIs will be majority used in Western front......with a sprinkle of F18 Support.....

15000 crore = 3.21 bill USD for 42 new aircraft.

i think they r going 4 engine upgrade, ibries-2 aesa, and bhramosh capability as these r start inducting after 2015
