does us know that their the current trade with india is highly in favour with india

the trade deficit of like 30 billion in indian favour, so if they wont trade with us then how will they earn that money back

We will not buy weapons from who ever sanctions us. If USA wants India to go to Russian camp, they can sanction us.

Sanctioning a Trillian dollar economy with a Robust internal consumption doesn't make sense.

Might be true, but all sensitive equipments onboard the weapon platforms will be/are being replaced by Indian sub systems, remember we never signed CISMOA on any defense deal.

Yes but the possibility of one now is very less....and even if it does I doubt India would be effected much, cause there are plenty of countries opposing the sanctions with whom trade can be carried out and boosted...
And who knows sanctions may help develope our defence industry like what happened in China...

I don't think this is a good mindset to have. 40 years have passed since then. At that time , the US leaders were a bunch of short sighted ideots having the sole aim of controlling the influence of the soviet union. The leaders have changed , people have changed in 40 years and the world has become a more civilised place. I think that India and US can genuinely be good friends as we have a lot in common. By this standard , we should be hating Britain , a country that colonised and suppressed us for 200 years.

Hate is a strong word my friend. I just want India to be cautious when dealing with big powers like US. We should not allow ourselves to be used as pawns in their game. Also I believe that are no friends and foes in international diplomacy.
