"India Rejects U.S. Bids for Big Order of Fighter Jets"

Good move, I say. Next thing you know there is another arms race booming in this subregion. As far as memory serves me America has turned on every country that it has sold weapons to. Either develop your own indigenously produced weapons or turn to China or Russia. Same goes for us Pakistanis dump all these American made F-16s and UAVs and stick with our own JF-17s and homemade UAVs.

More like issues with transfer of technology and pita end user regulations.

This looks far more straightforward. Think the Americans weren't willing to share completely on AESA and once that was discounted, the American aircraft's simply didn't match up to the European ones. The F16 was never going to be considered & Boeing's trump card with the F-18 was the AESA radar. Add to that, the Europeans are pretty desperate with France struggling to place enough orders to keep the line open & the Europeans finding that the economic conditions at home are preventing them from taking in as many Typhoons as they would have imagined. Pretty sure that the MoD considers them more amenable to pressure (from India) on technology sharing than the Americans who have a large home market.

Congratulations to India! You woke up and realized there is no hope in allying yourself with USA to try to contain China.

USA just wanted 1.2 billion Indians as cannon fodder. It wants to play off China and India to continue to reign supreme in the world.

The MMRCA result means that India rejected being a part of "Asian NATO." India wants to remain independent and non-aligned.

India must have finalized realized two facts to come to its decision: (1) the US dollar is about to collapse and (2) China is already so far ahead of India in every way that it's meaningless to try to compare with China -- just recognize our superpower status is the smartest choice for India.

Now that India has finally stepped out from the Anglo-Imperialist's shadow, US power will suffer a sudden free-fall and a multipolar world is inevitable. In Asia -- China #1, Russia and India #2 and #3.

Indeed a very interesting and good news that US is loosing its business in Asia....a very smart move by Indianz at least better than our traitor leaders...:coffee:

political undertone? or Inferior product to the Europeans?

I think.....

1) U.S interference after sale's

2) No ToT.

3) U.S Law's(pita end user regulation..etc,etc....And as we all know strings attached with U.S weapon)

We don't have any problem in buying U.S hardware (we are buying many)but problem is U.S Law's and those several law's which are unacceptable to India.

If U.S seriously wants to sell its hardware to India at large scale, then i think it needs to remove all those Law's and strings attached, it won't work with India atleast, we will prefer in buying from other's rather then working on someone else terms. :)

China is a biggest American stooge in modern history, go figure out before hyper ventilating and preaching Indians. There is huge difference between what Chinese policy makers rant openly and do behind the diplomatic walls when bending to American pressures.

China is America's enemy #1. Obviously a lot of Chinese still think the West is so great. This is saddening. It seems India also has the same kind of mixed view of the West. So the two civilizations are alike in this way.

Again, congratulations India on the proper choice. Recognizing that China is the "big brother" in Asia will do you no harm. India will do well to focus on economic development for the next 20 years before really thinking about acting on the world stage as a superpower.
