Bah! - how many speak french, german, russian etc( indian companies are engaged in all those and other countries)? guess what - English is the universal language and perhaps may surprise you but chinese speak it too...

No, English is NOT the universal language, and India has very small share of IT in countries that do not speak English as its first language. In China, people speak Chinese. Anyone wants to do business with China needs to speak Chinese, or at least hire someone who does. The CEO of majors firms in China are either Chinese or people who speak Chinese, and the workers are mostly Chinese. If Indians want software contracts, then speak Chinese, because you will be competing with locals ones that do.

ROFL what?- Chinese are trading with multiple countries too and per you- they speak Chinese only to their counterparts... come on stop digging that hole deeper. You hate India and Indians and that is blinding you to now make absurd proclamations! Hello! India is already trading with china –how do they accomplish that? Chinese are also heavily increasing trade with India; did you think when their premier came to India with 200 businessmen they came speaking only Chinese?

Crazy English: How China's language teachers became big celebrities

This year it will be announced that China now has more English speakers than any other country in the world. And such is the demand for their services that top teachers have become big stars

Don't worry Indian business men are pretty smart. They even do business in some of the most unsafe & hostile places & still thrive, so learning a language to do their business is a cake walk for them...

Sure, how many Indian IT people speak good Chinese? To work on China contracts, you should speak Chinese.
Let me take it to a more granular level. How kch of java code is written in Chinese. How much oracle SQL is written in Chinese. If they are not written in Chinese the underlying tech spec also need not he written in Chinese and then again the functional spec that is the base of the tech spec can be done by a bilingual business analyst. Where there is a will there is a way.

Not to sidetrack the topic, but firstly what has this do with Singaporeans? And btw most Chinese Singaporeans can converse with their China counterparts in Chinese. Carry on

Translators/Chinese speakers can be hired for people to people contact.. As far as IT is concerned, Chinese language will play no role there as none of the programming languages are built using any spoken language.. So in my opinion things can work out pretty good..

Do indian schools teach native languages? Suck as Hindi?

Is that really a serious question?

Sounds good. When it comes to technology and economy I feel India can help many countries around Asia; and it deserves credit for their hard working people. When I look at the Indian army it makes sick to fathom the country is so hypocritical, while it makes progress towards it's future.

Could you please expand on the bold part ? Thanks!

Instead of sizing up China, Pakistan, and also Kashmiri Independents, India should be conducting talks with it's neighbors. Also the massacre of Kashmiris are unacceptable. If India could solve it's problems with Pakistan, then I feel it would be more than halfway succesful dealing with it's issues with Kashmir.

Why bring Kashmir here?? Cant you keep your stories on Kashmir on a thread solely dedicated for it? We have such thread If I am not wrong... We are prospering well despite solving it, and we are into no position to compromise our stand...

You made three major points in your post.

a) Talks with the neighbours

b) Kashmiri Massacre/Independence

c) Solving problem with Pakistan

my answers -

a) We are always ready for talks but to clap you need two hands. More over, if successful talks means loosing sovereignty that god save us from such talks..

b) Dude, there is no Massacre happening in Kashmir. All the killings rose post 1991 era due to the rise of Pakistan sponsored terrorism in state. Kashmiri police is now doing their job getting rid of some of those barbaric bigots..

c) Solution of problems with Pakistan lies in acceptance of LOC as International border. Neither India nor Pakistan is interested in loosing their held portions of Kashmir so I don't know what else could be the feasible solution to the problem.. But both needs to agree on something and it's not India's fault only.

Just my thoughts, peace!!

Sir, there is no harm in having discussion about Kashmir with common Pakistanis.. It's not their fault that Kashmir issue is still lingering around. We can state our position and best solutions we can think of and let's see what solutions they have in their minds.. Obviously, loosing land is not an option for either of the party..
