China deliberately puts money on highly questionable and unviable infra projects with sole aim of usurping those properties and get a foothold across the world. There would have been no other way to get a foothold otherwise. Humbantota is one good example of this toxic policy.

The way I see it, the Chinese are either extremely stupid or extremely malicious. The big ticket infrastructure projects these guys force loans on (through corruption) are almost always white elephant projects. There’s a reason other multilateral agencies (or mature national aid agencies) don’t fund those easily. Specifically because these is no direct correlation to economic growth.

To see an example of yet another debt trap disaster waiting to happen - Gwadar International Airport built on Chinese loan.

As for Pakistan's CPEC, it has just finished the most of first phase the building of basic infrastructures and energy plants, the basis for industrialization. The first phase is basically built by Chinese state owned companies. Then, they are just starting the second phase of the project, the building of special economic industrial zones and private business have to fill the void. Only after or near the completion of second phase, only then Pakistan will be able to be rewarded drastically in economic gains, nearly everyone understands this nature progression logic except maybe you Indians pretend not to understand this logic.

Don't you Indians pretend you are the spoke persons for those countries that have projects built by Chinese companies. You Indians are not qualified, period ! So, stop spewing nonsense all the time.

A better example would be loan request for setting up a business. When one seeks such a loan, the bank does due diligence to see the viability of the proposal. It approves the loan only after it meets the criteria.

There is a possibility that a bank may have nefarious designs and set up such tough norms that any failure on part of the loan seeking entity may give the bank an undue advantage. And banks do such things.
