India Rape Capital of World Pakistan in United Nation Human Rights Commission UNHRC

Mass protests against rape are happening in India ... or do you think those are just a hype?

Watch the BBC documentary ... the villains (in jail) say 'they will do it again without hesitation'. Prominent figures (inc a lawyer iirc) in India have been on media justifying rape. All that fake too?

Amir Khan has done programs on rape, seen those? Rape is such a major issue in India that you have dedicated programs to change the culture.

So which part of this is so hard for you to understand that if it were a cultural problem, we Indians wouldn't be talking about it, protesting or making documentaries to improve on what's happening?!

AGAIN..IF rape is a cultural problem, we would have just gone on with our lives and brushed it under the carpet.

So am I to assumed that since the Mukhtar Mai's real life case didn't result in any protests that it is the standard operating procedure in Pakistan?!

Yes, Indian govt can be accused of not having harsher laws to deter rapists or providing better policing. That I can stand with you on!
I will also stand with you on the fact that in some part, Bollywood has contributed to the objectification of women.

But in NO WAY will I have you accusing Indian culture of promoting rape. Because then you're opening up a can of worms that will result in a lot of Indians shoving the mirror in Pakistan's face!

Well for that one has to assume if Bollywood is a mouthpiece of a government or a country. It is not a reflection of the state. Because of the diversity India provides or anyone who has a check on the financial readings.

You and I both know that Bollywood is independent. It is not state controlled media.
So this point is moot.

The usage of selling point means that there still a women needs saving by a man.

Really?!!!
I mean you Pakistanis live in the "Islamic" republic of Pakistan.
Let me not get into the role of women in Islam, state sponsored nonetheless.

Listen, we can sit here and go full freud on why a script had "rape" in it...I'm sure we can get creative with it as well. But the simple answer is that rape has NEVER been glorified in Indian movies! PERIOD!
I can challenge you to show me otherwise.

And there are several movies where the woman protagonist takes revenge on her violators. Trust me, that theme has also been explored. But when one is wearing myopic glasses with a fixed agenda as is the case with the poster that started this trash, its hard to see anything else.

That is disturbing if you ask me. Like there is a mental limit to our thinking.
Like in Hollywood feminist would happily have a male rape movie as well i assume lol.

Or the gay community has one on its version.

One of the most disturbing movies I ever saw was a French film called "Irreversible" with Monica Bellucci.
I suggest you give it a view. Only because the theme of the movie deals with rape, but more importantly about the fact that it is usually Power and not lust that drives rape.
Its a recurring theme in most rape cases (barring date rapes or domestic abuse/rape)

And if you truly want to have a discussion on the matter of why rape is becoming a problem in India or Pakistan, you should start with the fact that we are such male dominated societies with ridiculous egos and then pepper in the influence power plays in the mix.

Someday when I have more time, I will break down the Nirbhaya rape case to get behind the psychology of it.

You will not find me discussing religion with Indians. Nor did I intend to single out any religion.

Not even Dahir religiously but academically if that desperate time comes or if.

So we are back to male dominated misogynist societies and middle class population boom and its cure rather than causes. Since we both agree both our problems are societal.

Don't judge a person by the words not spoken by him till it happens to the next critical juncture.

Question is how often does that threshold reached?

aim wasn't to bring islam into the fray.
It was to address the comment of "women needing to be saved".
Thought it would help you understand perspective. Indian society is not that far off in its thought process in terms of conservatism.

Regarding the italics, I want to discuss further on this as I have some thoughts on the matter. But I do need to run, so will have to tackle this tomorrow most likely.

PS: Also a small request. Some of your comments tend to be disconnected to each other. I'm not sure if Its me or if you intend to be vague to open up discussion. But it would be better ( at least for me) if you could close your thought out. Like the highlighted line. No idea what Dahir is.

Sure man.

As a Muslim feminist i truly believe Islam as an ideology brought no such protection to man neither women that needs saving though distinction barring medical science.

Far beyond pro choice pro life opinions.

What is the Indian society's plan B?

Sorry just added to my previous comment. I have some thoughts on a statement in there. Will have to tackle it tomorrow as I have to run now.

I throw in dead end arguments or interconnecting relevant stories to come to the philosophical aspects in debates as I cannot keep up.

Life goes faster than a simple judicial process in our justice system here.

Offered without comment.

Madrassas are the biggest rape centres in India. They must be abolished ASAP.
They are destroying young boys forever.

Delhi?

Why are you making Kashmir a religious issue for a scapegoat?

If India needs madrassah reforms to tackle ISIS like trends why don't you openly admit that? Let the genocide begin.

Keep a check where your priorities lie?

Stop blaming others for your own problems

Get your damn house in order.

Perhaps it was brushed under the carpet but can no longer be - maybe the exposure is greater now. World has moved on. Caste system is part of Indian culture too, if you may want to recall that as a reference.

You have people in your country who are creating awareness that rape is unacceptable (first and foremost). Change starts from awareness, to fix a problem. Cultures have problems (such as rape, caste system etc etc) and it is the people who fix those problems.

Culture is defined as social behaviour too. If bad social behaviour becomes an acceptable norm, it becomes part of the culture.

. .
I am NOT replying to you.
I was only replying to a thread about rapes in India.

While agreeing with the OP partially, I am only pointing to fact that Madrassas are hot beads of rapists, destroying little kids lives. Solution is to disband Madrassas and enrol the little kids being raped in regular schools which have checks and balances.

What does the Indian Constitution say for rape?

.
Are you being pedantic?
Do you think any constitution in any country would condone rape?

Stop this already. Little kids are being raped in Madrassas. There is a need to highlight these animals who are destroying lives of young kids.

Those are Isis factories if you don't have educational reforms if you ask me.

Why does India have terror factories?

.
Female infanticide is another serious issue in India with Rape.

Now Now, if 2 men hugging makes them as fags, you as a muslim should seriously look at the Arab culture.
2 men hugging and kissing on cheeks very common in Arab culture. I am sure you seriously don't want to down that road mate - your loss :D
