India project navy too little too late

Our submarine has already cross the strait and are roaming freely in Indian Ocean :D
So, what you think what would be the Indian Navy response on Chinese submarine during peace time? Sink it?

.
Indian Navy is meant to defend India and her interests. Not invade China or any other country. As per Indian doctrine we will never initiate an unprovoked attack on anyone; but only retaliate against aggression.

Whether PLA wants to think of this as a legitimate doctrine (which it says is okay for itself) or not, that is upto them. We want friendship but not at the cost of our national integrity.

We need more submarine forces as our surface fleet is strong enough. If PLAN wanted to strike; it already would have. There's a reason why it doesn't strike because officials sitting in CCP office know that war will not take either China or India anywhere.

.
It's not little too late for anything. China has to deal with Japan and the US fleet at their own space. IN worst threat perception is Chinese fleet attack in the I.O. Both of these examples arent going to happen any time soon. India has time to build capabilities. And building it's own SSKs, SSNs, SSBNs, etc. and the different subsystems and weapons for them are falling in place.

It wasnt, "little too late", 20+ years ago when Japan and the US was miles a head of you, and still are, so...? By no means is it too late for India.

Agreed.................

.
Until there is a red flag flying over Red Fort, it is in no way "too late".

China has been able to build a substantial lead in certain areas (mostly the sub-surface domain) thanks to the advantage its economy currently enjoys over India's. However, just because this is how it is today doesn't mean it is how it shall always be. If not this year then certainly next year India's GDP growth rate is going to overtake China's.

China's economy is running into the law of diminishing returns and thanks to its short sighted "once child policy" it is not in a position to correct itself for at least another two decades India has no such artificial restrictions and is about to see its very own "boom".

Look at any long term economic forecast, by 2045-50 there will be an almost negligible difference between India and China in terms of economic parity.

Despite having a considerable economic head start on India, China is plagued by its own issues (it has managed to get just about all of its neighbours on the defensive and running to the US ) and so it is hardly in a position to start exerting its current superiority over India. In fact, India has admirably managed to maintain a technical superiority in many areas- ASW, surface vessels, Carriers etc.

This is a story that is still unfolding, definitive statements like "too late" are for morons.

.
so much of ur nonsense then what has india achieved using her brilliant method? :D

we are now producing next generation turbine and going electric propulsion system .

Submarine blow up itself in harbour. Only indian submatine holds that record

That is why PLAN submarine fleet is left unchallenged by indian navy

At Least we blew up our sub, ur submarine just sunk:haha:
:help::help:

.
You are under delusion type 052D is reverse engineer of Alreigh Burke? Even the dimension of our VLS are not the same and our system is unique as the world first capable of launching cold launch and hot launch missile.

And for india, the only thing they can do is wait for supplier :D

We do not have the problem of that. The state will ensure our own contractor meet the time.
That is what made u do things yourself, if china also had access to best tech around the world......it would had been full of rafales, F-18SH, eurofighter, and what not.........u were sanctioned.......u started to stand up on ur feet.......look at us we have already started to recognize the importance of indignation, we dont want kick to get ourself started....we already have moved and will do it like a nation as whole.....

too little too late? is there going to a big war between the two anytime soon??

each destroyer has 16 long range supersonic missiles that's a great equalizer in my opinion still now near parity, but what else can they do?? say heck it's too little too late let's throw in the towel and do nothing:rofl:

True tak, dont know why some Chinese members here are all getting all woke up. Thre isn't going to b any major war between India and China in our lifetime. So i dont see why they say its 'too late' for India. In fact India has been spending quite alot in its military(at over 2.5 % of its GDP these past years) giving its size/development level. For example Japan has a farrr bigger economy(almost 3 times more) and living standard but spends almost the same amount on its military as India on its military same with Germany who has a significantly bigger economy but spends less than India etc.. So i dont see why some Chinese members here(and Rusian 'analyst') think India is little too late or lagging behind, as if its the end of the world. LOOL India as a percentage of GDP(over 2.5%) still spends more than any of the worlds top 15 military spenders bar the U.S, RUSSIA , UAE AND SAUDI ARABIA.

So despite people claiming India is lagging soo much behind in this field, i dont think so. Moroever any conflict if it occus in Indian Ocean, India has the advantage since its much closer to its shore. In this case the only country which can defeat them close to their shores will be the U.S. Chin stil needs to build much more power projections capable warships like aircraft carriers/LHDs/LPDs more destroyers, nuclear submarine etc plus a base in the region where they can have a constant presence and more experience to manned all these ships, before it can start posing a real/credible threat to India. Otherwise i dont see how they can even start caiming they have the upper hand in IOR anytime soon. Even though overall the PLAN obviously has a significant lead over the IN, but PLAN has bigger fish to fry in SCS while IOR is on the other side of the ocean. As of now only the U.S and Britain(through our overseas territory of Diego garcia base) make regular patrol in IOR, and we dont have any issues/differences with India. So india faces no major real naval external threats FOR NOW. So we need to put things into perspective always. :enjoy:

Actually India's defence budget is only around 1.7% of GDP and has been sub 2% for the past 5 years mate.

Not too late really, neither too little.

All India needs to do is to unleash fiesta-stormer Modi, and his creative accountants of course.

last year it was 2.4% according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. but yes you are right, seems this year india reduced its defence spending compared to previous years(guess it cuz of a slowdown in economic growth or?).

The 2.4% produced by SIPRI is utter nonsense as it combines the Defence budget (under the MoD) and the budget of the federal police forces (under the MHA), they do not do this for any other nation- they don't combine the US's DoD's budget and Homeland Security budget.

India's DEFENCE budget for the past two years has been 1.7-1.8% of GDP. I suppose politics and the economic situation played a part in this as in the years before this the defence budget had been around 2.0% of GDP. India is now growing at >7% again so perhaps defence allocation is going to increase also.
