Indian Army have deployed 10 out its 13 corps against Pakistan. As against 29 air bases against Pakistan, around 6 air bases guard against China. Out of 16 odd naval bases, 12 are against Pakistan on India’s western coast.
As against 9 odd Indian army divisions deployed against China, China has deployed 33 Divisions against India – much larger force than Pakistan has deployed against India. Though in case of war with Pakistan, most of the Indian divisions deployed against China are moved against Pakistan, as has happened before.
While against Pakistan, India has 3 strike corps, against China one is being raised. The additional Indian military raisings against China will not make much difference in the overall Pakistan heavy troop deployment ratio as against China.
The pattern of Indian armed forces troop deployment alone clearly indicates that Pakistan is being considered a much bigger threat than China. It also clearly indicates that India’s major military concern for future would also remain Pakistan centric and not China centric as Indian leaders often state.
