Only country India could have compared itself is China. Both have been similar, even economically till a decade ago. And considering the growth, China is perfect as a goal. And no, apart from forums like this, there is no resentment. Most people dont even worry about foreign issues. If you see on this forum itself, the resentment is because of the border issue, and the support for Pakistan. Nothing else.

Every country has its own model of growth. Social, cultural and political conditions are totally different. Sure if there's something that China did well, or South Korea, you can study it. But why the mindless comparison with China and the ambition to overtake China? Wouldn't India serve itself better by focusing more on your targeted growth, rather than your politicians propagating a rivalry with China?
