Just out of curiosity, how would it force NATO to leave Afghanistan?

I forgot to mention in my initial post that both India and Pakistan has recommended Afghanistan to enter SCO with an observer status. Russia has always wanted NATO presence in Central Asia reduced and wants SCO to be a militarily active body. I suspect India will back it .
When Afghanistan-India-Pakistan membership in SCO is confirmed, the alliance would have every major player around Afghanistan including Afghanistan. NATO will have no justification for further presence.

Dude you seem to have your facts wrong. SCO is not a military alliance, evidenced by the fact that it did not take part in Afghanistan. To be honest no-one knows what it is. Russia wants it to be an active military player in Central Asia while China wants it to be purely for trade and economy.
Iran,India, Pakistan and Mongolia have observer status. If India and Pakistan are accepted as member (which is likely), this would include every major power in Asia forcing NATO to leave Afghanistan and in the future Iran to the SCO.

I saw the BBC report on SCO today (15-06-2011). They are calling it the NATO of the East.

They noted that one for the reasons for China to be in SCO is to keep check on their problematic Uighur Muslim population while Pakistan wants SCO to step in Afghanisthan after the Americans leave.

India should keep away from any military alliance. This is against our independent foreign policy.

The "nut job" Ahmedinejad has been a long time ally of India. He never allowed terrorists to use his soil. 60-70% of our oil requirements came from him till the US sanctions stopped us from buying more oil from him. Why do you think the petrol prices are going up?
When we voted against Iran at the UN Iran was stunned and the only comment their representative gave was "India was our friend".

On the other hand I adore everything about Iran especially its rich history.Ahmedinejad and the Mullah regime he represents is all together another matter. I have serious reservations about how this mullah regime runs Iran and the constant saber rattling & iresponsible statements from Ahmedinejad. I personally is against Mr. Ahmedinejad using SCO platform(of which India hopes to become a member) to make statments like "We will wipe Isreal off the the face of earth"

Actually it's exactly as per our NAM policy.It will be a counterweight to NATO. Within SCO India-Russia will be a counter-weight to China-Pakistan and Vice Versa.

Can't argue there.Thanks for the clarification. But just so you know not a single Indian premier has visited Israel.

Well the oil companies could afford to keep lower prices when they could buy from a cheaper source. Right now their raw material sources are RIL and OPEC nations. Guess who controls the prices of the OPEC nations?
Don't agree with everything Manmohan Singh has done, but regulating prices would've meant the Oil companies going the Air India way.
BTW maybe we should continue this topic off thread .

No I don't think so. That's true for NATO. But SCO is different, can you imagine India fighting the USA if it attacked Pakistan. NO.

Daily which navy is saving many citizens including pakistanis?US?
Can China warships dare to enter Indian ocean with USN and IN permission?
