Diversion of pakistani portion of water shud be responded to with full fledge war if it happens

You sure ?

This is what I know :

According to this agreement, control over the three "eastern" rivers — the Beas, the Ravi and the Sutlej — was given to India, while control over the three "western" rivers — the Indus, the Chenab and the Jhelum — to Pakistan.

@ subject , why has the title been doctored ? This is what TOI says :

NEW DELHI: India has set in motion its ambitious plan to utilise its share of water from western tributaries of the Indus, a decision driven by India-Pakistan geopolitics, which may see work begin on a major hydel project on the Chenab early next year. It is a long haul to implement PM Narendra Modi's September 27 decision to review water use within the ambit of the Indus Water Treaty (IWT) with Pakistan, but the government has prioritised three hydel projects on Chenab and its tributary —Sawalkot (1,856 MW), Pakal Dul (1,000 MW) and Bursar (800 MW) —in a time-bound manner.

Building infrastructure on Indus, Chenab, Jhelum and their tributaries is a huge task but the short-listed projects are intended to express India's political will and preparedness to respond to Pakistan's use of terrorism against India with every option at its command including a new preparedness to use all possible leverage points.

"The Centre has constantly been in touch with Jammu & Kashmir government for all necessary ground work. Execution of Sawalkot project is expected to start early next year. The under-construction Pakal Dul project has already received an impetus after the government displayed an urgency to complete it on time," said an official.

The Sawalkot project envisages a 193-meter-high dam on Chenab for generating 1,856 MW. It will be constructed in two phases. Since 629 families consisting of 4,400 individuals are likely to be displaced, the state government has been working on a proper rehabilitation plan before actual work begins. The Bursar project will, however, take time before it gets clearances.

"Since NHPC had initially termed it an unviable project on certain grounds, there is need for proper study before the government goes ahead with it. The project may be tweaked to make it viable as it is now our priority area," said the official. As previous cost and viability calculations are revised in view of the political imperative, India could be looking to use as much of Indus water as it can. "Maximising use of water must be priority. It is good that the government has sincerely moved to execute pending projects to legitimately use its share of water within IWT. This is the most realistic option well within the framework of the treaty," said Uttam Sinha of the Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA).

If that is the case then you have waited for too long.. You should have been there when your army struggled in past various occasions..

Yes we need that but from ur posts one deems that pak nuke and missle programee is alittle child while in reality we may need more tech and toys but our missles are better than atleast north korea and india and everyone knows that, dont u think that particular gibe of ur s was also uncalled for???
The land based nukes can easily be destroyed by preemptive enemy strike. SSBN/SLBM is the real deal, Pak currently doesn't have it right now. A country needs Submarine launched nukes for a credible second strike capability.

We have Slcm's, we surely would've slbm capabilities and might just be waiting for the chinese subs to intergrate them, not all capabilities are announced my friend, doesnt seem smart at all as its creates a lot of nervous heads across the world which invited sanctions etc and economic isolation, let our economy reach the trillion dollar mark with major trade ties with china, iran, russia and the east, let us and the chinese control the oillanes through cpec thsn we can announce whatever we like as than no ammount of sanctions from the west will effect us until than we need to play smart...

@waz @WAJsal Please look into this flagrant distortion of the original headline (which is against forum rules) by the OP.

Thats not what the article is saying at all. It is about India making use of its agreed upon share fully....which Pakistan should have no problem with at all.

Yes ofcourse, it seems the deep pakistani state has atlast realised that no ammount of defence strength will ever make up for economic strength, hence the slow and conflict avoiding and soft foreign policy we are witnessing for the past 5 yrs, they sure will milk this initiative, once a country gets economic stability, it opens horizions to defence capabilities no ammount of intelligence, planning and management can provide, india is an example, while we kept chanting the prowess of our pilots and the high professionalism and tactical prowess of our army they were getting economical stability and look at them now, they are getting weapons that will just neutralize tactical and professional prowess as is the case in the modern battlefield arena, computers are minimizing human error and taking gallantry and human brilliace out of the equation, hence we need economic stability to counter india and ensure defence of pakistan, der aye durust aye, its never too late..

.
This is called typical Times of India hyping up a regular news to an sensational one. India has every right to use its share of water so do Pakistan has the right to use its too. Every one should completely use the water to full extent so that it can be used properly..It has nothing to do with Pakistan...

No, the TOI story clearly mentions that it's India's share. The OP cleverly dropped that reference in the title thread.

Anyway - it's an Indian media story - must be fake, biased, yellow, fabricated, [insert expletive here]. Why react?
