Actually.. That is the whole concept of Mutually assured destruction. Just the fear of knowing that one wrong move and all will be lost is enough to force governments and people to consider other alternatives.
But I like the 4 little miracles proposed by foxbat, but Even those 4, require a miracle in their own right.

All you need is a good leader and a Visionary. This is always a miracle and this must happen ASAP.

Every one I suspected of being one has disappointed me.
In our land Mr Zardari remains true to his old self. And the Good Dr Manmohan cant hold off belligerent right wingers and military officers long enough to put an effective peaceful stance. In the end, What remains is always Army chiefs and the talk of cold starts & quick 48hr victories.
