Thank God.

Such bickering on Kashmir has held South asia back in whole 21 st century.

Hope in 22nd century, India and Pakistan develop fast like east asian tigers and keep Kashmir in backburner for a while.

Was bound to happen.. as such Kashmir offers nothing anymore..
and our economy has had enough of idiocy over a water source that is now rapidly shifting and losing its value.

Great Move by Pakistan. What is happening in Pakistan they are making good moves. Working with Russia and India, what made this change and who is driving. You have become more practical. We will have such a great time in SE Asia if this continue.

Reason for this change in Foreign Policy is something that needs discussion.

Internal problems becoming too much severe which calls for easing of tension on Eastern front along with economic woes that can be resolved by bilateral trade and FDI. People are more concerned about basic necessities not being provided. Not to forget painting of Pakistan as a trouble state has made the govt. and other institutes for revival of the image.

Change in attitude of general population, elite class and institutions. This can be attributed to views of new generation. The way we don't understand the hardships of our independence fighters and take it for granted, the new generation have different view about Kashmir problem and the society looks Kashmir not worth that much priority after so much bloodshed on both sides and no result after decades of full scale and proxy war,

Moreover.. the US has played its part by replacing the role of the primary bogeyman for Pakistanis.
India is seen as a Hindu nation, and a past enemy.. but the US has now taken charge of the "enemy of Muslims" title.
So even the most vociferous of Anti-India people(lets not take names yet) whose livelihood was acting against India have found that its time to change the tagline towards the US...India can wait.

The general educated and employed lot, they care less about India since India is not a factor in their daily woes of rising petrol prices and crime. This has given the Pakistani government , civil society and Businessmen the opportunity to get India to invest here..and to make money off India..AND.. to sustain this financial relationship.

As for the establishment, its already cornered between embarrassment over the May 2, Mehran,Kamra and Gayari losses and corruption scandals from outside and within its ranks. The need for reform has dawned upon them as well, and India it seems..is best seen on border meetings and kept an eye on for now.

HOwever, there can be no guarantee on some old school leftovers who still feel the need to pick a bone.. these gentlemen may be serving(unlikely) or retired.. ISI or not.. maybe even just civilian assets now let go..who still need a job.
And till they are out there, a guarantee on a 26/11 never happening again is too much to ask.

Dont you think that U.S is giving chance to india to prepare itself for china by being an enemy of pakistan or opening another front for pakistan?

The US is doing that.. in a different manner.
The US wants Pakistan to be in a state of total chaos.. not disintegrate..just chaos..
So it has little time to reequip or whatever ,while India does so smoothly.
It knows China sees Pakistan as its counterweight.. and wants to make sure the counterweight is in so bad shape that its own counterweight can handle China through the land...while it slaughters China and Russia through the sea from the Pacific.

It needs India to be a conventionally proficient army.. yet not that superior so that it takes losses and does not become a threat itself.
After all.. an overconfident India is also not in the best interest of the US.
So an India that is confident enough to take on China and Pakistan together.. but not enough to win deceivingly.. the result is that India suffers too, its infrastructure gets hit, its economy..
its gold reserves.. its oil reserves..
To the extent that its forced to pay the US for more arms and ammunition to fuel this fight.
Its a seriously complicated stage..
and I have only stated what the US would wish.. not what it would get with each player trying its best to get its cards on royal flushes.

That's a very interesting take; a couple of things that come to mind as the great game unfolds:
While the circular proxy game the Americans have played and perfected over the years is on offer in South Asia; in India they are dealing with a very different entity. The American bureaucracy has become used to dealing with pushover after pushover and the Indian establishment has shown on numerous occasions that while it may follow, it won't do so quietly and at the expense of its wider geopolitical goals. The difference is in India being a maturing democracy; a government that is answerable to the public can never be relied upon to obey orders blindly. This explains the historic American relationship with dictators of diverse beliefs and ideological leanings.

In the end, the US may be able to offer India enough to lead it along a path that heads straight towards a clash with China, but it isn't a sure shot bet; and those are not the kind of odds the Americans like to play with. A military dominated Pakistan is predictable; a democratic India, a slave to the changing whims of the public, isn't.

On the other hand, if Pakistan continues its downward trajectory, we face a very real possibility of the losing our one trump card at this point; the Chinese support. If the North Korean example has taught us anything, it's that the Chinese (or any growing power) will not let another nation hold them back, as such it is unrealistic to expect the Chinese to continue to finance our civilized existence if the negatives outweigh the positives. So far, this isn't the case, but who's to say the next great aggressive adventure thought up by Pakistani politicians, doesn't bring us enough negativity to force the Chinese to cut the cord in order to avoid bringing undue negative attention on themselves.

In the end, things may truly unfold the way we find highly predictable at this point, but at the same time, an independent India and a Pakistan that may not be able to toe the line between chaos and destruction, present very real challenges to the status quo.

Deep state won't allow it. This is just for public consumption.

The government can only make statements. Few months to go and hopefully we would never see them again. The Pak army has always been there and will continue till the end for Kashmirs. On the hindsight, majority of Kashmiris don't want to be part of India. Really i'll change the statement here and say instead that in last 10 years, we have never seen so many LOC firings by India, especially on poor civillians who want to come to Pakistan.
