India offers Vietnam $ 100-million credit for military ware

What about Dhruvs & In future Rudras & LCH

I think Akash SAMs will be most useful .... to deter any thing fancy PLAAF might try.

The key thing is that Akash SAMs are much much cheaper and have deadly accuracy.

Try to stay beyond the Brahmos range of 290km and use air or sea launched YJ-12 (500km/mach 6) to attack. If that fails we still have the FL-3000N system and Type 730 CIWS and jammers and decoys.

PS i suppose those Bramos are coastal launched versions right ? Which Vietnamese ships can carry the Brahmos ? Even if Vietnamese ships can carry Brahmos we still have Flankers that can fire YJ-12 missile's. Rather the Vietnamese can actually get the Brahmos remains to be seen. We have to see what the Russians would do. And Vietnam already have the Yakhont coastal defence missile's. I don't think the Brahmos would add that much capabilities to those.

Sorry forgot about proven Mach 7.5 shaurya.

.
What is the interest rate of that credit?

I guess India has negotiated a low rate credit from IMF and passed it on to Vietnam on high interest rate... just profiting from trading of credits.

The key thing is that the East Sea / West Phillipine sea is about the size of Bay of Bengal, and in terms of width much narrower than the Bay of Bengal.

Range isn't a limitation for Brahmos, even if is land-launched from Vietnam and Phillipines. The limitation is that it is worthy to use it only against high value targets, such as a destroyer or their "training carrier" Liaoning.

Patrol boats are best and cheapest way to counter the "fishing boat navy" and "tents".

However, a token presence of Brahmos will deter PLAN to bring any high value targets to East Sea / West Phillipines Sea.

But it doesn't have any chinese-quality photo-shops.. otherwise, yes, there is no counter to it.

We're quite far away to counter chinese photoshops. Congrats.. they do make good screen displays.

That said, the weakness of Brahmos is that its too costly to use against "tent".

Hence, patrol boats and Akash SAMs suffice.

We would use it only for testing against Evolve sea sparrow. But it is not be necessary as ESSM can easily shoot down this missile. Let us know when you have the air launched version.k

India need something more powerful. As China might summon Jupitor and venus to spy on India again.

LOL...come on, dude, you are obsessed with such thing like mail order brides. Has the gender imbalance reached an alarming state?

not alarming state but still one chinese male need a female, Vietnam can help us to make up the difference :D

yeah... we need help from friends and allies like India, the more support we get the better we can keep East Sea clean and free for navigation. Brahmos are among one of most advanced weapons, that make Chinese to wet their pants.
Indian navy should act more aggressively in the region. Hopefully in 5 years, too, Vietnam navy could operate further away from shore, and will be seen in the Straits of Malacca and Indian Ocean.

What make you think that this Brahmos is so advance? Russia don't want it for themself, India is so desparate to find a victim to absorb this high cost missle, seems like Vietnam is a good candidate:lol:

Useful? Indeed.

Viet Nam really lacks anti-air capability. Viet Nam can not hope to match PLAAF in term of figher aircrafts. The only way to match the Chinese air bowa is having a strong network of SAM. Give us your one-time price tag, how much India is willing to transfer ToT for Viet Nam to produce the Akash SAM system?

So indian cheerleaders are competing directly with Russia for the vietnamese market

But they are in these shapes:

well,if they're interested, then why not???but our interest should take the priority.we've huge amount of demand of these..so,only after meeting our demand(atleast a handsome percentage of it),we may discuss that..in SCS countries,Vietnam is far more superior than others(apart from China)..they also has a capable airforce and most of their helos are either hind(Mi-24 for attack) or Mi-17/8 or few puma or dauphin..so,they don't have light attack helos or helos in Dhruv's class..also,their attack helos are old..so,there is a possibility..but then again,LCH will still take some time before induction..so,it is rather far fetched..
