In turn of events India has offered Bangladesh assistance in
up-gradation and maintenance of Mig-29 fleet of Bangladeshi air force .
Bangladeshi air force currently operates 8 older Mig-29A fighter jets
which were purchased in 2001 and for long has been planning to upgrade
them to latest SMT standard .

India for first time has offered service of HAL to maintain and upgrade
them . Indian Air force also operates 69 Mig-29 A which are been
upgraded to latest SMT standard in Russia and soon HAL will soon start
local up-gradation of this jets in the country from kit provided by Russia.

India also told Bangladesh which also operates Russian made Mi-17
Helicopters in its fleet that it can use its premises for maintenance of
this helicopters . Bangladesh in past had some serious maintenance
issues with Mig-29 jets which lead to repeated grounding of this jets
due to higher spares cost, at one point Bangladesh even wanted to
sell-off this jets. Further jolt came when Bangladesh cancelled orders
for 16 more jets .

if the offer is best among alternatives, BD should accept it

. .
What are the alternatives? I think it will be the cheapest option for sure!
Do they really have any options..it is only the HAL when it comes to cheapest service to Russian flying hardware.

.
Oh god, talk about old news. This offer was made more then a year ago, it was rejected by the BAF then and the migs are being upgraded to SMT standard next year in Russia as part of the weapons package between Russia and BD.
