India Offers “Tejas” to Sri Lanka To Counter Pakistan’s JF-17

Seriously speaking! We aint no China to be able to provide out of the box solutions for our clients in a situations that are pretty much new to even our home forces. Tejas as an Aircraft may withstand the competition however, supply chain and after sales service is an area wherein HAL needs to improve.

Looks Like eating Rat's wasn't that much help to you..as eating grass was for us :azn::whistle:
I hear it's not grass nowadays it's no

Light category fighters are a huge category. Small countries can't own or operate large jets. LCA is a good option but our own production lines will be full for a decade. Iaf has not indulged in limiting tactics but gone full out means platform is fundamentally good. This is now one of the most successful projects in the world.

As long as the IPR is in our hands we can exploit production facility our way. We could even pull in Pvt players to assemble these aircrafts for them.

In a way the LCA is an exact repetition of the ALH. There also people kept criticising and attacking it. Finally when they were asked- ok, how much do you order? They ordered it by the hundreds, and then kept ordering it by hundreds. The cash that comes from this will naturally kick in R&D and evolution- like weaponised Dhruv and finally the LCH.

Ditto!! Well in a way all Indian defense products have gone through this. Products can only evolve with a good consumer base in the country and India though not the sole reason but was an important one in Russian Weapon Industries growth. They targeted the consumer base in India behind every new product they made and were quite successful in convincing us too.

Indian Industry is now in a very nascent stage and cannot compete with the products that we are importing and are hence often rejected or kept as a secondary option.

This will be a good piece of Machinery for SLAF as it comes with all 21st century gadgets . A good Electronic Warfare suit, life support systems and Avionics with the option to modernize as much as they require. It is built on an open architecture design which will allow the designers to continuously adapt and upgrade Tejas to meet the challenges of modern warfare.

SL must strongly guard its sovereignty, by not bowing to any preasure and if they fail now they won't be able to excerise it ever.

It was'nt even a question..

Pakistan to sell JF-17 aircraft to SL ::: Dailymirror.lk ::: Breaking News

Pakistan is expected to secure an agreement for the sale of the JF-17 Thunder Aircraft during Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit in Sri Lanka in the first week of January 2016, IHS Jane's Defence Weekly reported on Tuesday.

JF-17 Thunder is a third-generation fighter co-produced by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and China's Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation (CAC).

Sharif's upcoming talks in Colombo follow a mid-November visit to Pakistan by Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) commander Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinhala during which the JF-17 was showcased by the Pakistanis.

Immediately after the visit AM Bulathsinhala was invited to send an evaluation team of technicians and pilots to PAC's Kamra facilities near Islamabad, where the JF-17 is produced.

The SLAF - which already flies several other Chinese-made aircraft types - is currently looking to upgrade its fighter capabilities. At present these rely on the Israel Aircraft Industries Kfir, which served as the workhorse of SLAF ground attack operations in the 1983-2009 civil war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

Currently the JF-17 is flown only by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), with the first squadron of Block 1 aircraft becoming operational in 2010. In late December 2015, PAC rolled out the 16th of a planned total of 50 Block 2 aircraft to complete the PAF's fourth JF-17 squadron in service. Phasing out its older Dassault Mirage III/5s and Chinese F-7Ps fighters, the PAF reportedly plans to induct at least 250 JF-17s. By contrast, China's People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) does not fly the JF-17.

The current Sri Lankan government has already sold part of Sri Lanka's sovereignty to the USA and India. They are going to sell a heck of a lot more. Useless, cowardly tards.

What improvements does JF-17's Blk 2 or 3 provide over LCA Tejas MK1A ?
