India needs solution to $1.5 trillion puzzle

The article makes good points. Investors aren't interested in putting their money in infrastructure, They are out for a quick buck. If India wants it done, it needs to pay for it, itself.

Good luck! :P You can't really expect the same people who stowed all that money away to retrieve it tbh.

Also isn't India running a large deficit?

this money will come back. trust me.
and it will come back within next 5 years.
and when it would come, India would become the biggest economic superpower of the world.

If anyone random can be trusted then India should abolish the need for them to plan its spending. Just get someone random to do it instead.

It seems like India will have a lot of things to be do with if they want to be the strongest superpower, biggest economy, most high tech and educated country in the world. There are still a lot of people living below the poverty line and roughly 6000 kids die each day due to malnutrition and health problems.

It is best to tone down and be humble, this way you don't make a fool out of yourself unnecessarily. India is a great country and is doing very well, but to be the best on everything in the next 5 years?

what on earth made u hallucinate that anyone would be selected randomly and money will be gotten back.
this task is not so easy.
u have no idea what is going on in India at this time.
a nationwide movement has already been started.
y do u think all these scandals and swiss thingies are coming into limelight all of a sudden now.
its no co-incidence.
i can see the pattern, becoz i myself is a part of this nationwide revolution.
millions of volunteers are working day and night for this revolution.
this is only the beginning, u would see more of such exposings in the coming months.
now if u wanna laugh at this, then u are entitled to do so, but im least bothered about it.

i know what im talking about.
and i can tell you, by 2020, India will be the biggest economic superpower of the world, as it was in the past.

you and I will both see it happening.
u can carry n with ure laughter till then.

Wow. Just wow.

Its no miracle.
You have a good knowledge of economics.
U can easily understand, if India got back all its black money deposited in foreign banks as well as inside India, then it can easily be achieved.

The amount of this black money goes upto trillion of dollars, imagine if we got all this money back, and invested wisely into development of this country, how many-folds would our GDP rise all of a sudden.

All it takes to get this money back is a nationalistic govt. at the center, and we are working for it.
its too early for people to believe this.
but i know it will happen.
we all would see it happening.

I have a question regarding public-private partnerships in India.

As we all know, Lakshmi Mittal is head of Arcelor Mittal, and is an Indian. ArcelorMittal is part of a very strategic industry: steel. this industry is a backbone of any modern industrial nation, and is one of the most capital intensive and high tech production industries. However, he lives in Britain, and the company itself is from Luxembourg.

How can you hold foreigners that control strategic industries such as steel accountable for their actions?

$ 1.5 trillion is enormous amount. but we have to raise this amount if we want to have decent infrastructure.

India has just to forego the procurement and stockpilling of US and Israeli weapons, then it could easily find the much needed trillion for its infrastructure. Railway infrastructure is important for India now China is well ahead not only in infrastructure but also in railway infrastructure. China is building and investing in railways for its indigenous bullet train to connect its major economic poles. India must also massively invest in sanitation, hygiene and basic health care instead of procuring weapons and WMD in view of maintaning employment in the US Military Industry.:china::pakistan::D

India's defense expenditure is only 30 billion dollars. so dont kid your self.

Perhaps you should think before you post anything and at least make an effort to remember what you have said. Here's a quote from your earlier post: "this money will come back. trust me."

I like your optimism, but to achieve your targets on 2020, you have to first give Mr. Obama and Mr. Hu a call and tell them to halt their advancements and to wait for India to catch up first?

sorry, i dont have time to waste calling irrelevant people.
i am working for my country, and im contended with it.

@metro

Why so aggressive? Chill out, and like I said, be humble about India's growth. It has a long way to go.

Now that'll be the first. I wish your country luck in tracking all the corrupt officials and all the money that they've successfully syphoned out of your country. I also wish you luck for them to happily turn over what's in their secret stash for the sake of your country. Surely if they are that willing, then they wouldn't be considered "corrupt" in the first place? They'd all be heroes!

I am sure other countries are also working hard day and night to make their countries better. This ultimately rules out your optimistic projection of total power over everyone by 2020.
