What's new

INDIA NAVY-Multi Role Support Vessel.

Ya... but they would have brought some other like Americans and asked them to pitc in America class LHD... its one giant Helicopter Carrier with 40k ton... With Helos and F-35.. it'll be a big show.
Yes they should have especially when they have decided to enter defence in a big way.
Actually they would have thought about that bit as you know americans are not keen to sell their high tech weapons unless and untill their parliament or government approves it you can see from harpoon sales to apache and chinooks nod all have government stamps of acceptance.
Also the austin class LPD(INS Jalashwa) which america sold to IN came with many strings attached and it is nothing but a sitting waste of money because it can't be used in a war like situation.
Because of such mishandelling of defence deals IN during Congress rule wasn't interested in anything which American equipments and weapons,
But from 2014 and new emerging geopolitical picture americans have started to look beyond their pragmatic self satisfaction view and became more opportunistic in their attitude
Examples being JSF, approval of sales of many weapons to India, DTTI and etc etc
Americans have realised tbat they need to be more supportive in their aproach
Reliance would should have gave it a chance american would have been pretty much supportive in this endeavour because after providing help in IAC2, this deal would have really pissed off china.

Yep buddy i know about that but since then lot of water has flown since and zeeing the current relationsbip between India and Italy i can only pray. If you know what i mean.

But what do you think will they still be interested?
And what do you think that it will be heli carrier or some F-35 will be approlriate.
Because IN has given signs of getting F-35 for their IAC 2

indian will not get the f35 for at least another 15 years easy. it's way to expensive. we got the f35b and it's horrible. i have heard that the second carrier your building will be made to accommodate the f35c thought. the US helping you with the launcher sort of backs my point. and the indigenous 5th gen fighter your developing may be carrier capable too.

Yes i think the f-35 is 10 to 15 years away but i don't agree with your POV that f-35 being expensive so IN can't buy.
Actually till f-35 matures our ARMED FORCES will have sufficient budget after 10 to 15 years if we go by current rate.
Yes US is helping in EMALS and also i think IAC2 will be nuclear capable so it will trully be a supercarrier.
So for supercarrier IN will surely look for 5th gen super aircraft, in that category f-35 fits perfectly.
On our AMCA- i think navy will not get AMCA because it isn't a part of fundsharing in AMCA along with IAF.
And IAF alone is funding the
Programme so IAF will be the first customer for our AMCA.

just because something is nuclear propelled does not meant its a super carrier. the size is near a super carrier status, but not there. the f35 will be the stupidest jet anyone can buy. any country that buys that plane are idiots or a*s lickers. if i was in charge i would have our carriers with emals and our typhoons carrier capable. like the rafale. or you can buy them (the rafale) for your own carriers.

You seem to be quite critical of f-35.
But your country is also buying it isn't it?
Yes i know that f-35 has been in bad news in major part in its making but don't you think it is still early to criticize it because it is being made by the americans and who better than americans can understand and make 5th gen fighters.
Also the less we talk about rafale the better.
If you would gad asked me 2 years before then IN would have thought about it but now.
It is next to impossible because of dassault and IAF standoff.
Apart from f35 IN can go for migs and N-lca.

just because we have the f35 does not mean i have to love it. it useless. and when you say it too early to criticise it you should say its too late and you should criticise it. yes i am aware india and the rafale is a jet with difficulty.

The Rafale would have sufficed whatever IN had asked for but as you know its a gone deal now.
Currently if you see the only fifth generation fighter for any navy in the world is f35 even though whatever its faults are.

none of the ship offered are 40000 tonne they are all just over half of that. looking at the size of this tender. i would think they would buy ship that suits there needs and ensure they get tot so they can modify it make it even larger.

i think italy will get it, as they helped india with their indigenous aircraft carrier. so they may also help with this too. besides india and italy have good relations, they build your tankers didn't they.

I think better to go with the Spanish they can customize the vessels according to their needs

spain has got sold a licence to turkey. and turkey and Pakistan can very easily go in to a joint project (hypothetical). even if they don't pakistans will know the ship capabilities through naval exercises. which is more likely.

That's why I said a customized version

What is the status of this guys.

Is Raytheon also part of this ?

What would be a right fit.

Juan Carlos is too big in my opinion.

Are you kidding me JUAN CARLOS is the right fit.
The eligibility criteria for LHD participation for companies is that their vessels should have 40000T displacement.
And none of them have that not even the JC.
