I know that.But India is unique ,here people give more emotional value to some issues and rituals.Hindus protest only when it comes to Cows they dont even care about if it goats,Buffaloes etc.
Even educated people is also follow that way.This is not gonna change 1000 mughal and British rule couldnt change that reality.So for the sake of nation compromise from both sides are the only way.
Pashtun people dont compromise their Pashtunwali tradition whatever the reason.
Due to the tolerant culture Hindus dont resorted in violent activities .But some issues are like this always disturbed them.

Vegetarianism is the best, the second best would be making occasional use of meat by killing smaller creatures. Name me a creature which has helped human civilization as much as a cow?
