Technically, you are halfway there. USA needed Pakistan to counter USSR. Kashmir needs Pakistan to counter India. KSA needs Pakistan to counter Iran. China needs Pakistan to counter India and vice versa. Turkey needs Pakistan to counter threat and vice versa. There is the reason why Pakistan is called the regional player.

Before giving your self stars and stripes on forums look at the fact that Iran rumbling U.S. naval forces in its waters.
